Yeah he should on the state level get more respect but sometimes it's best to show up and knock off some "higher" ranked guys as an unknown. Falcon mentioned he could be a top 4 in state in the rankings. That's good praise. Look forward to it. Good job to McClain. Big win.

I mean he was ranked 3rd at his weight behind a 3x state champ and then another highly regarded wrestler. That's a good win for him so I assume he will move to 2nd behind sheffer but let's not act like he was ranked 8th or unranked. Kid wasn't being disrespected.

I predict a St. X / Woodford with St. X on top

These rankings came out before the Capital City classic so I'm sure the next batch will update accordingly with those results.

When did the Whorton's move? Completely forgot about them. Also, Johnson Central not listed anywhere in the seeds. That's going to throw a wrench in the seeds when they do show up. Some people won't be happy when they face those big boys of JC in the early rounds and get knocked out after being seeded higher.

The last practice of the season when I wrestled was always in the western hills cafeteria the night before state. That dome gym was a sight to see. Congrats to them for qualifying!

I'd say district 1 needs a little moving around on the team placements. 170 participants is more than Region 2 as a whole!

This is what I found on Track. Either they don't have a lot of matches this season (like the 18-0 win over PCC in the McDonalds Classic), or you're lying. The most matches for any person is Alex Horn, Kameron Rice, Dalton Lawson with 8 matches posted.

Wonder why they don't use track wrestling. I thought it was required in Ky now, guess not.

Union/Christian/McCracken had a tri-meet tonight. Gabe Adams over Grant-Hall 5-4 and Zeke over Knight 18-6 are some notable results. Haven't seen all the results yet.

It could come down to how teams shift wrestlers around as well. Larue has always been good at that. Glad the Duals are in the same spot. Maybe you will see a face off between divisions. And definitely, union would get blown out of the water in just about every sport when competing against the large schools. It's still a numbers game tho.

On another note, are both state Duals at the same location this season?

Going out on a limb here: predict Union and St. X to win. Unions on another level this season and St. X isn't too far behind. Has to drive the large schools crazy when they see such a small school in union year in continue to beat up on them.
