I did say a bit not a whole bunch. Sometimes I feel like the kids from small town west Kentucky get overlooked for their northern KY counter parts. I used the word sometimes there. Riley never looked at the rankings and didn't even know who he was wrestling, just stepped out on the mat and took care of business, until running into that buzz saw Spencer Moore in the finals! In the end it's all about exposure, and nothing brings more exposure than showing up at the state championships. Congrats to all those kids who competed and the young ones today. The future of KY wrestling is bright.

Region 3 with only 4 projected placers as a whole is shocking. 120 is a mess. From round 2 on there will be some intense matches.

Campbell Co. seems to be having a rebuilding year. Projected 16th in state. With Trinity outside the top 20, I wonder if there has ever been years where neither one of them make the top 10?

I think there would have to be a decent weight 'allowance' for this to happen. Kids will be tired of making weight after the big daddy of them all (state tournament) is over. It's a great idea tho. Would like to see this happen.

That was my first year wrestling, and it was at a dual meet tournament Fern Creek hosted. Could have been anywhere from 125-135. Not sure what weight I was at. It was during the 2003-2004 season. Those Cooper's knew how to win. Back on track, Travis Sullivan's overall record was insane. That one blemish in his last match changed the tone, but very impressive what he did. He launched one of my teammates both times in the finals back to back years.

I don't remember which Cooper I wrestled (2004 @ 135), but it was not pretty.

Most people predicted a St. X vs Woodford final, but that is a great team win for Oldham County. JC finally got a taste of what the rest of the state has to offer.

Where are the regional rankings at?

Didn't know high school coaches were allowed to coach or be in the same room as their wrestlers when they were 'practicing' in the off season.

I think Walton got a bad draw as well. They also matched up good against union. St X vs WV would've been a great one!

Jarvis Elam wrestled two years varsity and got 4th then 1st. His first two years of high school he was the third string 103 pounder behind Aaron and Adam Carr. That's a stack group of 103s at one school.

Hmm according to track, union bumped up everyone starting at 132 for their match with Boyle. Wonder if the shift was just for that match? edit: nvm, pre match lineups were wrong.
