Pretty weak to see JC not accept the challenge from Union County. First time a team declined. What is their reasoning behind this?

What happened to Western Hills. I see where Franklin replaced them. Will give us a #1 Lawrence vs #3 Carr matchup in the third round.

Johnson Central is so secretive, they probably want to change the names of their wrestlers so no one knows who is where come regionals.

What are their records I am wondering? I have seen criteria screwed up this year at other tournaments to where it is a head scratcher trying to figure out how they messed it up so bad. EDIT: Scott is apparently 6-1 with a 2 point loss to Simon Kenton.

If you feel like you were the better seed, it will work itself out in the results. Who did you beat that Scott or Wayne lost to? What are their dual meet records? I really wish people would put all of their info on track and keep it up to date. It usually happens the week of regionals from my experience. It's like pulling teeth trying to get results sometimes.

Makes sense not scoring the first round. It should be like that over here to avoid the advantages some teams get by those easy first round matchups.

This hurts teams who have a lot of byes who could be getting first round pins. When I read how Indiana had theirs set up with forfeits, would their first round match against "Forfeit" count as fall points?

So is it this way in Kentucky as well? If a wrestler wins his next match, do they get bonus points for their first round bye?

I could be mistaken, maybe they don't receive "pin" bonus points when they see a forfeit. Not sure.

I read where Indiana fills in "Forfeit" for teams without a kid in that weight class in their post season tournaments. This replaces their "bye" given usually to the top seed and other higher seeds. When teams have quite a few high seeds, these byes put them at an early disadvantage for scoring bonus points compared to teams who have a bunch of first round matches. I think Kentucky should adopt this. The only exception is if a team only has 2 or less kids entered into the tournament, then there isn't a "forfeit" filled into the rest of their roster. "3. If a school does not have an entry in a weight class, then a forfeit shall be entered for that school in that weight class. EXCEPTION – When a school enters two (2) or less wrestlers in the IHSAA tournament series, the vacant weight classes created by this school’s entry into the tournament shall NOT cause a forfeit in the vacant weight classes."

I just saw the full schedule for Union Co. and it looks like they will be heading to Graham High School on January 12th. I had heard St. Ed’s and Mason Ohio might be there as well as part of a quad, but can’t confirm that. Tall task for the Braves.

Looks like the one I thought would make the drop did today. Christian County’s Ethan Wells made the drop from 126 to 120. Lost a match with Mattingly today, but has a head to head win over Miller a few weeks ago.

Looks good. 120 - Paducah Tilghman Ray Hamilton is one to look out for that I didn't see on there. The Johnson Central big's confuse me. Have one of the Horn's wrestled at 195 yet? They were huge on their initial weights at the beginning of the season.

Union will face St. Paris Graham and Mason, OH tomorrow. Won't be able to wrestle Davison, MI due to some distance rule for Michigan I had heard. Union's 113 will be at the MS Bearcat Brawl so forfeiting there and they will be forfeiting 126 as well. Tough matchups for the Braves.

This should be a great dual matchup Friday as Father Ryan travels to Union bringing along 6 wrestlers ranked #1 and their whole lineup ranked in top 6 in Tennessee at their respective weight classes. Also, Calloway County will be there as well.
