It was pretty cool being in Austins corner the last few days. He is a humble and very respectful. I see why so many of our wrestlers look up to him. Good luck in college and thanks for the memories.

These predictions were based on results. Which included wins, losses,head to heads. I assure you that I would love to be wrong about some of these brackets. Which I can guarantee that we will be. Every year some kids get upset and other rise to the occasion. I'm sure this year will be no different. Good luck to all the wrestlers.

This is entertaining to read. My feeling has always been the same. I believe you leave it up to the kid and his parents if he wants to wrestle youth state. We can spin it anyway people want to, but here's the reality of restricting a kid based on his performance. Think about the kid that placed at middle school. He probably worked his tail off to make that happen. Now a week later the kid has an opportunity to wrestle kids the same age and weight. It doesn't get anymore fair than that. Considering chances are the same kid just wrestled older kids at middle school state. So now that kid has an opportunity to have a level playing field and we are going to tell him "sorry kid your to good". I say reward hard work and leave the choice up to them. Chances are if a kid is that good they are trying to get as much mat time as possible. So the parent that takes that kid all over the place to wrestle is excluded. I think it's crazy. I say those kids should be rewarded and not discriminated against for the fruits of their labor. I also believe that if a middle school wrestler can win a spot in the line up on his high school team. He should be able to compete. I read all the time about trying to catch ky up to other states. It will never happen if we want to shelter kids from competition. It all works in cycles. Older kids move on and now that younger kid has his opportunity to shine.

I think the official name of the barn is the "oven" We have had a lot of visitors from all over the state. There are so many dedicated wrestlers and parents willing to do a little extra to help achieve their goals. It's been pretty cool having the opportunity to make so many new friends over the years.

Brayden spent the entire year in the middle school room this year. He made it to a handful of high school practices. I do know this. Brayden will be in a freshman next year and will be rolling around with Roth, Moore, Mcmillian, Peace, and Smith this summer and next season. I assure you that coach Roth and coach Moore will have him ready for next year. I don't want to make any predictions but I would have to guess that Davis will not "tech or pin him easily". One thing about our high school schedule is that most of our kids will have double digit losses due to the brutal schedule that we wrestle. It's all practice until post season. Hopefully Davis recovers and has a great season next year. I just have a hard time with all the bashing on Brayden. He is a great kid.

Ranger was just tired of getting the stink eye from parents because their kid isn't ranked #1. Now we both get the stink eye. Funny how that works.

You will have to thank Ranger. He is the mastermind behind them. I am just an intern trying to earn college credits. I have to say that I believe there is going to be a few upsets this year. I think there are a few kids that will be automatic but there are a bunch of brackets that I believe who ever wrestles their best tournament can win. The middle school kids are getting better each year.

You should go to a weekly band competition. It's 12-15 every weekend. That money pays for officials, facility, awards, and those fancy finals singlets. I would say for a state tournament it's not to bad. Wait until you walk up to the horse park this year. I bet you say "that 12 bucks wasn't to bad" I also forgot some of the money goes to pay ranger for his time. Good luck to your team or wrestler this year. Should be a great state tournament as usual.

Lots of results to look at. I have to say 138 has to be the most difficult weight to figure out.

It will be a random draw. They will also seed the 4 regional winners.

If a coach, kid, or parent would like to have a wrestler considered on the rankings I would suggest sending useful post. I would suggest listing the wrestler, tournament, and who they beat. This is information that could be used to make an educated placement on the rankings. It is very tough to search every team and duel that might take place each week in the state. When a post or private message comes across that just say's "look out for Billy at 138" or "I will show Billy that nobody wants to rank him". This not the information that we are looking for. Also just because a kid gets a big win over a ranked kid but has lost to 4 kids that are not ranked that is taken into consideration. These rankings are meant to be fun and get the state talking about wrestling.

The updated MS rankings will be posted late tonight. Also HS should follow soon. There were a lot of HS tournament results this weekend that need to be reviewed prior to posting update.
