Great job to Campbell county on winning. The tournament ran smooth as usual. There were some great matches.

Less than a week away. Looking forward to some great matches.

I agree kyle has done an outstanding job with North Oldham. The intensity for the finals was amazing. That had to have been the loudest crowd I had ever heard cheering for their teams. It was awesome. I also got to witness some tough kids wrestle. Ranger you might have to add some names to your rankings. There were a few kids that I had never seen wrestle that we're impressive. I hope state has the same intensity next week. Great job to all the coaches and kids that worked so hard this year.

I listed fahy and sheffer due to the fact that they have more titles than anyone. I will agree with whs98. I agree your son aj was tough as they get. I think there are a bunch of kids that come to mind when I think of great middle school wrestlers and aj has to be one of them. So when I listed those two that didn't mean there wasn't other great kids. I watched aj dominate most kids he wrestles for years. I am glad to hear he is doing so well in high school. There are also some kids that come to mind that dominated. Tyler frankone his 8th grade year looked ridiculous. It almost didn't look fair. Logan Erdman and John mieman looked the same way their 8th grade year. The list could go on and on. As far as Brock,Garth and Caleb's middle school career was before my time. I'm sure they were incredible. I'm glad we have had an opportunity to watch these kids wrestle and grow into great young men. All the parents of these wrestlers should be proud of their accomplishments.

Ranger I agree. Fahy 5 timer and sheffer soon to be 4 timer. There have been a bunch of middle school studs but those 2 have to be considered the best.

Just watched it. Awesome Job. The Ervin's must be proud.

Good job to Campbell county for winning regions. They looked well coached as usual. I think they retain their title as state champs. Thanks to the Ryle crew for running a great tournament. There were some great matches today.

Wanted to say great job to Trevor fritsch from twenhofel. He had a big win in the finals against holub to take home "mow" honors. They are both tough kids. I have a feeling that might have a rematch in the finals in a couple of weeks. The 70lb class is loaded in nky.

I would have to agree with grandby about the food. Mrs Lonkard is the master when it comes to a hospitality room. She has been going out of her way to keep us coaches fat and happy for years. Can't imagine the spread she prepares for thanksgiving. Lol. Thanks again

That's a weird question for you to be asking. We should all be asking you what your opinion is. You seem to have a little bit of knowledge of how to raise champions. I know have picked your brain on multiple occasions about what you had your boys do growing up. Thanks for always being willing to give some advice.

I was very disappointed to hear about Delong. It makes no sense to my why they both wrestled 70. I would have had the kids do a wrestle off and the loser would go up. I know they have a good staff at turkeyfoot so I am sure they had their reasons. I look forward to seeing Delong at the high school level. Good luck to all the 70lb wrestlers.

The only prediction I am certain about is that Campbell county will win their district. Other than I am very excited to see the 70lb weight class this year at districts and regionals. It is loaded with young talent. Good luck to everyone. This is what the kids have trained for all year. Lets see who shows up.

Way to go!!! Love to see ky kids placing at big tournaments.

We are talking about sleepers. I think we have listed some good ones. I can't wait to see some of those kids wrestle. I am curious what weight class everyone thinks will be the toughest at state this year. My opinion is that 113 is full of tough kids. I was looking over the list and that was the weight class that seemed to be loaded with talent. Not to mention Dallas miles and Trenton Johnson are both in. Those are two of my favorite wrestlers. After getting to know there dads I can see why they carry themselves the way they do. Class acts!!!!!!

I have seen a lot of new names added to Ranger's list. That means a lot of kids are working to get better. Trithis you asked for some sleepers that are not on the list so I thought I would give you a few. Jordan Hanh 80lb (campbell co) Brayden Mulcahy 92lb (walton verona) He just had a big overtime pin over Adam Bender at conference. Spencer Carpenter 92lb. (twenhofel) He is another kid I have seen improve tremendously since last year That would be my list of sleepers that i think could place at state. You never know. I think it is easier to be a sleeper than the one everyone is looking to knock off. Im sure there will be quite a few kids making their names known before the state tournament. Thats the beauty of wrestling. The harder you work the better you get. Who's willing to work to be the best? I'm glad to see so many kids getting better.

Wanted to thank the turkeyfoot staff for another great tournament. We saw some good matches today. The tournament ran smooth and we were out the door by 330. Thanks for having us
-
I would also say that the 190 lb (major?) from Christian county is also tough. He beat Ruber (Walton) in a close one at elkhorn duals. Always excited to hear kids are getting better. The talent seems to be spread out in multiple weights this year. The toughest kid I have seen this year has to be Cornett 152 (turkeyfoot). He looks like a man amongst boys. Not to say he can't be beat because anyone can. I just think he is on another level. There are so many good kids this year. I hear that miles kid looks pretty tough as well.

Wanted to thank Adam for putting together a tough tournament. We got to see some really good matches.
-
I'm sure we will have some ky placers. Winning it might be a different story. Lol. If I had to pick a winner I would have to say Casey Cornett from turkeyfoot. He is a stud. I would imagine ranger with bring a few studs from Campbell county. I hear they know a thing or two about wrestling. It should be a good day and a tough tournament. I'm always excited to see good wrestlers compete

Jim thanks for having our team. I agree there were some great matches. That 70lb weight class was loaded with talent.
-
Want to thank Jason Moore and the rest of the Campbell staff for hosting a great tournament. The hospitality room was great as usual. Thanks for having us.
-
I have to agree that Campbell looked tough top to bottom. Ryan Moore looked incredible. Little Zach wells looked like a handful. Zach holub, Joey Delong, and Casey Cornett for turkeyfoot looked good. It was great to see so many good matches.

The Middle School List - August/September 2012
dutch replied to Ranger123's topic in Youth Wrestling
I would agree the Grandstaff kids are tough. I would imagine they will do well this year. As far as the list I think ranger will wait to update until the season starts. I imagine a lot of names will change due to the growth of many kids over the summer. I know a bunch of these kids weights have changed from seeing them and talking to other people. The season is here. I am looking forward to seeing the new kids that come out of nowhere. Everyone expects the kids that everyone knows to do well. I like when a kid that nobody talks about makes an impact. I have a pretty good idea of who some of those kids will be. Can't wait to see all the kids wrestle.
