A big thanks to all who participated in the Danville Tournament and clinic!!! The numbers were down for the tournsment, however everyone got some quality matches!! Several state qualifiers and state placers along with at least one state champion!! There were participants from Union, River City, Davies County, North Hardin, Woodford, Lafayette, Henry Clay, Madison County, Fern Creek, Scott County, Boyle County, Nelson County, and Im sure I missed some!! Thank you for your participation!!!!

What a deal!!!! Danville is hosting its annual spring USA Tournament and for the second straight year has coupled it with the Jeff Jordan camp w/ technician Jesse Leng!!! Register early and you get to wrestle in the tournament and receive 5- 2 hour sessions of technique plus meals for $85.00! Coach Spatola and Coach Dehart are a class act!! They have given more back to this sport than most would imagine!! To complain about a spring /summer tournament lasting too long or waiting too long to get a match suggest that one could do a better job and if that is the case I challenge you to host an event an prove it!! For the small price that one has to pay to enter and the opportunity for quality matches far outweighs the time invested!! We had several participants at this event last year and this year and they only had positive comments! We will definantly be back next year and appreciate the opportunity to get quality matches during a time when the majority of people do not host such events!! Thank you Coach Spatola and Coach Dehart for your dedicattion to the sport of wrestling and the lives you have positivily influence along the way!!!

Due to an inadvertent conflict of events in the area we will not be having the event! Since No-Ox is hosting a clinic on the same day we wish to support them in any way we can in maximizing the number of wrestlers they can draw! We appreciate Coach B and will be taking several individuals to their event. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Like most tournaments that do not require pre registration we do not know who is going to show up, however we promote this tournament as best we can and are interested in growing the sport in ky!! We try to get everyone involved the maximum amount of matches that the entries allow which include as many exhibition matches one cares to set up. I am a firm believer that summer wrestling produces winter state champs and want every participant to get as many matches as they want and quality matches, however I can not control who comes and who does not. The issue that really rubs me wrong is the ones who say they want more spring and summer matches in Ky but do not attend because they are not sure they will get the work they need, however it has to start somewhere!! If you faithfully attend the USA events in Ky and pass the information along to other wrestlers it will grow into the kind of tournaments that are in neighboring states! Bet they didnt start out as prestigious tournaments but grew into them! I have a new found respect for Empire because, like him or not, he promotes the sport in all his endevours and within the state he resides!! He has two top caliber wrestlers who can go anywhere in the nation and compete but they support local ky tournaments because he understands that to be the best you have to grow the best around you!! Go were ever you want but Our tournament will be as good as the participants make it!!! Empire your sons are class acts and are great ambassadors for wrestling and the state of Ky!! Lets get it on!!!

Danville USA Wrestling Tournament Saturday July 21, 2012 Danville High School 203 East Lexington Ave Danville, Ky 40422 Styles: Folkstyle Divisions: Bantam - Open Format: Round Robin (If there are more than 6 in a weight class, we will split into pools) Cost: $20 per wrestler 1st – 4th place medal Weigh-ins: 7-9am Saturday July 21st, 2012 Wrestling Begins at approximately 10am Admission: $5 adults /$2 -12 & under Coolers and outside food will be charged an additional $5 at the door. Early Weigh-Ins: We will have weigh-ins at Danville High on Friday, July 20th from 5pm – 7pm. There will be other remote weigh-ins available and they will be posted on KentuckyWrestling.com when dates and times are known. Look under EVENTS. Registration: Each wrestler must have a USA Wrestling card available at themat.com. You will be able to purchase a card at the door for $30. We will take forms early but we will NOT take money until the morning of the tournament. Everyone will pay at the door before coming back to check in. Jason at Caldwell County will be hosting a remote weigh in at the high school on Thursday the 19th from 5-7 pm

Coach Payne, McCreary Central, will be hosting a remote weigh in at the high school athletic complex on Friday the 20th at 3pm for any wrestler in that area.

The Aprl 28th Danville USA tourn is approaching...please make plans to attend...if you want to host remote weighins call me at 859-324-2212. Also following the tourn we will be hosting the Jeff Jordan clinic 2 sessions on 4/28 and 3 sessions on 4/29. Spots are filling fast .... for info you can use the above number!! Remote weighins are being hosted by Coach Thomas (Ryle Raider Youth Wrestling) from 6:30 - 8:30pm Wednesday at Sports of all sorts. Also you can contact Coach Burroughs (North Hardin) and Coach Tucker (Harrison County) as they will be hosting remote weigh ins also!!!
