South Oldham?

I've been away for a while and didn't know Franklin and Woodford had been moved out of the 7th. Any reason or was there just too many in the area?

I heard they won when Kevin VanDam and Roland Martin relocated during the season.

Since you brought this up, what exactly was the "non sports related" reason?

Some great pictures on ihigh.com. From the pictures, it doesn't look like a very big crowd. Anybody there have a clearer perspective?

I know of at least one high school that does not have a middle school team feeding it. So middle school kids that want to wrestle work out with the high school. If they are good enough, or if a weight class is open, they get some varsity experience. If this school did not allow middle schoolers to wrestle, the team would dry up pretty quick. If allowing young guys in the room and on the mats keeps wrestling in a school, I am all for it.

D.W. - I stand corrected. I knew Tevon lost at WCI, but didn't realize it was to White.

Good job on the rankings. I haven't seen as much wrestling this year as in the past, but I think I would put Clay ahead of White at 138. Should make for a great regional final either way. I haven't seen Maxted this season (saw some spring workouts), but I think he could go better than 5th.

Best format I saw all year was Lafeyette's Five Star tournament. Half duals, half individual. Made for an interesting day. I do think that teams should be allowed an extra match or two (in addition to the 17) scheduled during the week, at night, for a two or three way dual. The students never get to see the wrestlers because they aren't going to give up all day Saturday to sit at a tournament, even a home meet. This way, more casual fans get to see a quick match or two, or extended family can see a match without giving up a whole day. Most other high school sports schedule to attract fans, particuarly students.

I hope so, that was a fun match to watch, though Josh needs to worry less about the crowd and more about his opponent.

Just can't let this pass. The camp sounds good, but I don't want any part of the "bomb fire". Sounds dangerous.

Relocating may mean moving, not moving back.

I think there are good and bad in the changes. For our school, adding another big weight class hurts. We didn't have a heavy last year and our biggest guy was about 200. Having to add another big will make it tougher on us. I think a lot of smaller teams/schools will be in the same boat. Since the new weight classes are based on national numbers, this may not be as much of a burden in areas where wrestling has a better foothold, but I do think it could be hard in Kentucky. On the positive side, I do like bumping up the lightest weight to 106. Last year, our 103 was a freshman. Most of the kids he wrestled were middle school, because the high school didn't have anyone that size. His record appeared pretty good, but was against younger kids, and it showed at tournament time. Maybe the extra few pounds will allow some more high school kids to go varsity at the lighter weight instead of JV at the next step up.

Really only Gibbys and Sarafinis are. But I was talking about places to grab something and get back. Still theyare close. Goo, that's cold. Funny, but cold.
