Does anyone know of any good Greco training around? My son is interested in trying some new styles.

Nice update in the Lexington Herald Leader today. Hope it continues to go well.

Nice match Kyle! Impressive control. I've included a link you may want to follow. http://www.suplay.com/items.asp?Cc=SINGLETS&Bc= :-D -
Is anybody having open mats in the Lexington area? I'm sure this has been posted in other areas, but I can't find it.

What about Woodford County? Do they have a Monday - Wednesday Open Mat?

I spent a couple of days emailing with Mike Fields encouraging him to write some stories on wrestling just before the regionals and state. He was very interested but didn't have the background information. He asked about rankings so I told him about the website . He was very helpful and interested in doing stories, but unless there is a Lexington connection, the editors just are not going to run anything. I suggested Milford, but he went with the other story. One of the problems wrestling has that prevents growth is the lack of news coverage. Our local paper does a good job, but unless we stay on top of them, they will not cover much. We submit our own stories most of the time, which helps, but unless we do, we just don't get the coverage the kids deserve.

Elkhorn won District 7 over Woodford this year and was runner-up to Johnson Co. at Region 4. Last year Elkhorn was runner up at Region.

Call it the advantage of being local, but I went out for dinner. A block away from the arena is Buddy's Pizza (good and not pricy) and Gibby's Resturant (nice sit down place - try the hot brown). During the day the Cheesery is open in the plaza (I haven't been in a while but it used to be good for sandwiches) Both are easy walking distance and are actually closer to the arena than the hotel. Remember for next year if they dont get better catering.

Gardner from Franklin Co. is in the Finals at 171.

Josh Lopez from Franklin Co. at 125. Just a freshman, but could make some noise.

If you can get approval for the bus driver, I'm in. :-D

I thought public schools had a rule that if there was no school there was no practice. I think it can be waived under certain circumstances.

Ranger, I like the idea. Maybe Madden does a high school wrestling game.
