Christmas eve two 4 time state champs, 1, 2 time state champ 2 wrestlers from j-town with their coach and 4 from st.x all working hard at our house for a couple of hours.Christmas day all 3 Lampe boys close enough in size to go at it hard and man did they,it was a wonderful Christmas present for this old wrestling dad.Merry Christmas to all and I hope everyones was as blessed as mine.

The 160 for StX is Hunter French he was out from jan to about august rehabbing from an injury and surgery. Nice to see him back.

Thanks eville dad .I have a good story for you.When my son john was working out at fern creek his freshman year,your son johnny in a definitive way said to me "he will be a state champion some day" talking about my son john. I didnt think much about it at the time but now I think back sometime and wander what he saw that I didnt.I have seen alot of good wrestlers over the years and johnny woo still stands out as one of the best. Hope you guys are well and thanks for the support.

I am not sure what empire is saying but if he is saying Justin Lampe hurt Paul Hamilton on purpose he is 100% wrong.Justin wrestled very aggressively and was trying to use a single leg finish his brother John recently taught him when Paul got hurt the first time I did not see what happened the second time but Justin would not intentionally injure someone.Hope your leg heals soon Paul . Thanks to all who helped set up the camp at campbell co. the wrestlers I brought up liked it and the instructer was top notch. I wish their had been a bigger turn out at the highschool level it is always enjoyable when a group of studs from all around are in a room together for a couple days

Nice change of topic but the only middleschoolers who are allowed to compete in highschool are from middleschools that feed Public highschools.The middleschoolers from rivercity wrestling and shamrock wrestling although very capable were not allowed to compete . Quit being a hater on private schools and religious adjectives just as some could quit being haters of hold backs and rule benders.

There was a heavy from missouri who used to do camps at union county and he was ncaa champ and played football

I was talking to a wrestling dad from Illinois and he said they didnt have much of a problem from football to wrestling . He thought one reason was because football started earlier and ended earlier than our season does. Their wrestling started later than ours does so there isnt as much of an overlap of seasons.That seems like it would help both sports.

mainly mat time ,hard drilling and then work on keeping alll the fundamentals togethert while going live

when will workouts start and where I am wanting some good saturday workouts to prepare for super 32

Big thanks to John Fahey for coming and working with us last night at open mat.

I was referring to our gym at our home and it only requires a usa wrestling card.My sons do go to a private school and coach Knable coaches there but what we do at my home is for anyone willing to work.One of the boys who comes the most is from Indiana and his parents drive about an hour to get him here.My son John has been home for about 3 weeks and has spent a year at a d1 program.He goes to the StX open mat on tues. and thurs but the other 5 days a week none of these highschool boys are even trying to get any time with him which is a missed opportunity.Justin and Dominic are drilling or conditioning or both everyday and anyone willing to work hard can join them.I wont respond to the private school comment I have made myself clear on that before.Success at anything takes sacrafice and effort and if an hour or two a day for boys who have the summer off is too much then life is going to be very hard on them.John has been working 10hr days framing houses ,comes home and first thing he does is a conditioning workout before he eats.My objective is to provide a place for all aspects training that allows anyone with the desire to accomplish there goals .

My wrestling room is open seven days a week with planned work outs by coach Knable or John Lampe.To our disappointment there are very few wrestlers taking advantage of it.I personally invite many of them and approach their parents as well.My sons abilities and accomplishments are known and the opportunity to train with them is free.Few want to give up the time and make the sacrafice it takes to reach their full potential.The bottom line is everyone has different ideas about what is enough, and getting all the highest level wresters from across the state together to train is hard to achieve.We have tried for the last few years and we always end up having fewer practices than planned.I do thank those who always step up and try and each year gets better .

Had a great turnout tues. state placers at many weights 132 up to 170 .It would be great to see some placers from other schools thurs. at 6

A catholic who says that getting their way is more important than there faith is giving poor example of what being catholic is.Owning items symbolizing religion does not make one religious,but knowing and trying to obey every law of the church.Let Christ be our example and bear our crosses patientlybeing a good example to all who are watching,and when we start feeling sorry for ourselves and set bad examples ,we make resolution to do better next time.Using one catholics bad actions to stereotype all catholics obviously lacks sounds judgement. A catholic who says that their faith is not the most important issue in their life does not know their faith.

For people of the catholic faith there is no topic more important than religion, and the public schools have alienated us.There is no title my children can achieve that is greater than being in the state of grace.I have used the examples of the life of Christ to challenge my children.Work like it is all up to you and pray like it is all up to God is our motto.I do not push it on anyone but I dare anyone to try and take it from us.Public schools can help individuals achieve great things, but if we have to pretend that God doesnt exist while we are there being oppressed,sensored,forced to deny our faith,then we must go to catholic schools if we can afford it.For the record I went to public schools as did my wife,we do not fit into most of the private school stereo types that were posted in this thread.Our ultimate goal is eternity with God and along the way we will be in the world competing in sports,and seeking jobs but hopefully obeying a set of standards that keeps us from being of the world. This is my opinion take or leave it but this is why I would choose a catholic school for my children .

I sent my sons to St.X because of the moral emphasis the coaches at rivercity and St.X make a high priority in their program.We are allowed to mention God when giving a young man advice and we can pray as team.The harm done to public schools by taking the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer out of schools is obvious .The right to demand a higher moral standard from students is why I pay for my sons education.

I know of boys who were tested for learning disabilities at ST.X so the teachers could alter the way they teach them and their schedules are changed to help them progress where they are behind.I was told by a Trinity teacher that they have programs to help the students who dont test well on entrance exams.

Congratulations John Fahey and thankyou for the fine example you and your family have given kentucky wrestling,if all of our champions carried themselves as well as you kentucky would be known as the most honorable wrestling state.May God bless you and your family in all that you do.
