5 match maximum per day in Kentucky?

True that you recieve pts if you win the next match, but you recieve points for advancing in the tourney, not winning a match. I do think you are correct there should be a team forfeit and an individual forfiet. If the team forfeits then it should not count toward 5 match rule (ie. dual meets) An individual forfiet would be if a kid sits out for some reason, (ie injury, illness) after he/she has started the tourney, or started the match. I also believe if a kid steps onto a scale and does not make wt. and does not wrestle in the tourney/dual meat. It shuld become an individual forfeit with that wrestler also recieving a loss on his/her record. You are also correct that it is for the safty of the kids. Much the same way football is restricted to 10 regular season games. But, if Team A. forfiets to Team B. both of those teams have used up one of their regular season games, same as a wreslter recieving a forfiet in a tourney.

HHDad Saw your post on big east thread, I asked to early where Holmes would be. Southern will be there I believe. Will Golsby make wt. here and wrestle Powers, or is he not making wt. becuase of fear? (Coomer was thought to be wrestling at TCI, maybe he didn't make wt. for fear of facing him again).

What is going on with this kid? I thought he might be a contender this year, but he does not seem to want to put the effort into it. This is at least the second time he missed weight this year. I've heard he only lost about 5lbs to make 140. My guess is (with the exception of maybe the top 3 wt. classes) most of the contenders at the other wt. classes have lost 10+ lbs to make the wt. and probably have made wt. every time out. Where will Holmes be wrestling this weekend? This is the last weekend of scratch wt.

Is Shearer really looking that poor this year. He was unstoppable the last two years. He seemed off in the finals last year, but still had control of hte match. If Shearer is at the top of his game then neither Stone, Wise, or Byrd can touch him. He has the potential of being one of the best upper wt. wrestlers ever to come from KY. He may have the best double I have ever seen in a big man.

Looks like Simon Kenton Showed up along with half of Campbell Co. varsity (They sent the other half of their varsity to the Fairfield tourney, where they placed 15th) , and Lafayette was not there. How did the Warner, Bryant match go? Did Wenniger wrestle Watson in the finals? I'm guessing Coopers won 145, Cooper won 152. Golsby won 140? King won 160? Was Anderson Co. there?

How many UNDEFEATED records could we have this year?

Murton lost in the Beast of the East, Shearer may have already lost acording to the record posted on another thread.

Why has Hovecamp went to 160? Does this mean Aylor is at 140 now? So many questions, so little time.

kids on the team tell me he just doesn't like to lose weight. They told me his skin fold said he could go as low as 130, and his natural wt. is around 145.

Now that is blast from the past. Jerod Trice was a Machine. This kid did whatever he wanted to whomever he wanted to. What happened to this kid? I think I heard he transferred to Shawnee and refussed to wrestle for the team. Does anyone know the scoop on this? Hop-town had some tough kids back in the 80's. But it seemed something always happened to someone on the team, injury, quit the team, I think one or two even died before graduating.

I think your getting "Home Cooking" confussed with intimidation. I see many refs get intimidated by older, experienced coaches. Woodford, Larue, Campbell, Sheldon Clark (when Matney was there). The refs don't do this intentionally. When they see a well admired coach approach the table the second guess themselves. Good or bad this is true, I know of many officials that have said when ***** goes to the table I start checking myself to see what I did wrong. I have officiated for a couple of years and know its extremely difficult. I have contiplated returning but I don't have the time. I would however encourage all ex-wrestlers to try officiating, at least for one year. It's a way you can give back to the sport and to the coaches and peers that challenged you through your high school career.

Sure I'll take the wager, the only negative I spoke about WC was thier attitudes. You can talk negative or possitive about any team you want, I don't have a particular team I root for. I root for individuals only. I do think WC will win the title, I just don't think as dominate as many believe they will. There are several teams with one or two top notch wrestlers that will knock several of the WC wrestlers down a couple of places. Top to bottom they will probably dominate the state duals and no-one will come close, but the state tourney could be another thing. If Byrd comes back in time and is at the top of his game that gives WC a huge boost. The reason I state WC only has one lock is because I think this is their only lock as a state champ. Others may be the second best in their wt. class but they could meet the best before the finals. It all comes down to the bracket draws for many finalists. It happened to Thueneman at 125 last year (only lost to Scott) Courtney at 130 (Only lost to Sanders) Cooper at 145 (Only lost to Murton) Mitchell at 160 (Only lost to Ervin) Lageman at Hwt (Only lost to Clark) The above won their regions and placed 3rd others who could fall in this catagory Voth 112 (placed third, lost to Wood at state, but was second to Lewis in Region) Walls 140 (placed third, lost to Aylor at state, but was third in his region) Robinson 189 (placed third, lost to Starks, but was second to Orth in region)

I don't think they are complaining about the rankings. The fun of the rankings are that there can be some controversy, and discussion about them. The one think I think everyone has to keep in mind though is that the rankings that everyone is talking about are not official. They are the opinions of one man who had dedicated his time to try and give everyone, (mostly the fans of wrestlint) the names of the top wrestlers in each wt. class. I think the main objective of the rankings are to get people more interested in wrestling. This happens by people talking about them. If not for the rankings how many less threads or replies would we have on this forum?

Dec. 22/23 Regional Duals @ Paul Dunbar

It seems to me that both Sanders and Ashbrook were ill. Sanders did not weigh in and Ashbrook did. Ashbrook bumped up for the team to try and win the dual. I wouldn't think they would need to bump Ashbrook up againsts Lafayette to win the dual. As for a good match, I heard that he (Croomer) lost to Golsby by a pin at the Holmes duals. Ashbrook seems to be better than Golsby if he defeated Howard. Just my opinion though. I also bellieve that Harrison could give Woodford a run, but not be able to defeat them. Harrison does have a few holes to fill, whereass Woodford has a solid team from top to bottom. I think that everyone will be suprised this year with Harrison Co. at the state tourney. I also don't think Woodford will run away with it this year. They may still win but I don't think they will be more than 10 points over the second place finishing team.
