Was FYFFE's transfer to WOODFORD Illegal?

Another Forum that should not be posted on here. I am quite certain that if there was anything going on with this it would have been investigated. This is however something that is not appropriate for discussion on this type of forum. I beg to have this topic removed

    New Offical Rankings 1/31/06

My guess would probably be NO. If I were doing the rankings I also would NOT take the results from here. To be "official" you would need to get the results from the horses mouth (coaches) Once again I think that he(Coach Coomes) is doing the best he can with the OFFICIAL results that he is given. I think it is interesting seeing both rankings. I however realize that niether have all the results. KWCA only uses results passed in by the coaches. Rebel is using what are being turned in here. Wrestlers only turn in when they win (for the most part) both are flawed, and both have merit.
  5. I find it appauling that you can not find the results to tournaments. Almost every tournament that you go to today is done on the computer. How difficult is it for the tournament director (coach of the home school) to send this information to the KWCA or to someone who will send the information out? Many times we have to rely on second hand information who sometimes don't have the information correct or does not have all the information. How wonderful would it be to be able to download the entire tournament onto your computer. Coaches and fans could then look this over anytime they wanted. It would also make Ranger's and Mr. Coomes (the one who makes the KWCA rankings) life so much easier. Just me ranting. I would like to see the results of the 5-star, TCI, Big East, WCI, Bourbon Bash, ect. ect. and not just the finals who placed who defeated who in the simi's.

you might be a wrestlign fanatic if: ............When you go to McDonalds you take the food home and weigh in with the food in your hand to make sure you will still make weight. .............Many years after you graduated you still refer yourself as a 103 pounder (your graduating wt class), even though you now weigh over 200 lbs.

    under rated

In Nky maybe the most underrated would be Ben Rust Campbell Co. 130 (placed 4th last year) losing to Parker and Theunerman. And defeating Marcus Coleman last years state. He also just took Peace to the wire.

Woodford I sure hope you are getting a big laugh out of all of this. You seem to be posting just to get under everyones skin. This is the type of stuff that we need monitored on this site. It has gotten out of hand the last week or two. It's only going to get worse as the regiona and state tourney gets closer.

    Injuries

great decisions iceman. Looks to me that you went throgh all the steps. That was probably the correct line of effectiveness. If your school has a trainer go to that person 1st. After that go to a doctor or hospital. If at that point they say there is an injury then go to a sports doctor. This is the last step. A coach cannot override a doctors decision. I have heard of parents overriding a doctor before. This puts the coach in a difficult position. He/She holds the athlete out becuase of the doctor yet the parents say, we want him/her to participate.

    State Finals 06

Yes it's all about fun. That's why we come and talk. It'd fun to talk about your team or individual. Talk up your team as much as you want. I think this is a great thing, as long as it is not at the expense of another. It's one of the great things about wrestling. We battle it out on the mat, and when its all said and done we are one big family.

    state dual

One of the lures of the state duals is that you will get 5 matches that day. If you only got 3 matches that day and drove 2-4 hours to get there might reduce the interest of teams attending. I think however having the last 4 teams on the floor at the end is a good idea. The other teams could leave if they want. No need to stay for trophies and such.

I think some call this the arm bar. Where they grab the wrist, put their head in bend of elbow. When the arm raises they sink in a half. Unless it's something different.

Woodford w/ 7 or more state champs

You cannot compare two wrestlers even if they wrestled the same person. There are many factors that go into matches. Different styles of wrestling. Look at Aylor last year. He won most of his matches by 2-4 points. He is a control wreslter and does not score many points. Sullivan is a pin wrestler. He does not score many points because he is trying for the one move for a pin. He rarely tilts for points. I have seen many times in the past where wrestler A and Wrestler B both defeated Wrestler C by a couple of points. But when Wrestler A and B wreslte. Wrestler A dominates the match and wins by 10 or a pin.

    state dual

Eville dad; I believe they wrestle them all at the same time is so that they can get the tourney over at a decent hour. Most coaches prefer to have the finals on as many mats as possible, so that they are finished faster. Especially if they are not in the finals. Most tourneys wait until the end to pass out medals ect.. Those coaches not in the finals want to get home ASAP. I'm basing this on the several coaches that I have dealt with in the past. Many of which attend or have attended the state duals either this year or in the past. Even as a wrestler, many many moons ago, I personally didn't care for a face of. In my opinion it was a waste of time and a distraction from my routine for getting ready for the finals match.

I have coached and will again when my son makes it to high school. Using this theory then why do you ever wrestle a match that would not change the outcome of the match? (If we started with 103 every time) Many of the schools Hwt would never wrestle. It's not a gamble by not allowing your wrestler to wrestle it can make him not use to the several tough matches he will have at state. By making him wrestle all of the matches then he becomes tougher and learns to wrestle several tough matches in a row. You take this gamble every time you send a wrestler on the mat. The ONLY reasons I see to pull someone from a tough match are. 1. The wrestler can't compete with the other wreslter and could get hurt. 2. Your wrestler is already injured. Just my opinion and philosophy. No I don't think this was the wrestlers decision.
