  8. There are still a few teams out there that have not completed teir assessment and are wrestling. What is the consequence of this and how fair is it to all the guys who are obeying the rules and slowly working their weights down? If no punishment is used for these teams then this weight management program is not going to work. What does everyone else think about it?
  9. I am the assistant coach at The Universtiy of the Cumberlands but I help out with the Whitley County program as much as possible and I will be at the Bourbon Bash this weekend doing some recruiting and coaching hope to see some good wrestling there. You dont have to go to a D1 school to be a good wrestler. We have some one called Brad Cooper from right here in this state and he has not lost a D1 guy in a long time, so what does that say about NAIA or D11/D111. If you are willing to wrestle in college and have good grades then you can wrestle in college no matter what your high school credentials are.

    Wrestling without being assessed

I think the punishment should be somewhat harsh because of the sheer amount of teams that are following the program. The couple of teams have no excuse for not following the program besides they want to cheat and get their kids down to weight earlier then the assessment requires or that they are to lazy to figure out how this system works. This program is making alot of people mad but it is put into place to protect the wrestlers. Other kids aregoing to start dropping faster then they are suppose to if there is no punishment put into place. To my understanding you have to have completed your assessment before your first match and have it on file.

    Hoosier duals

Cumberland competed in the Indiana Hoosier duals this past weekend and found the competition very stiff. Cumberland's team posted a 1-3 mark on the day with losses coming from The University of Oregon, Indiana University, and Ohio University. Cumberland did find a win over opponent Appalachian State University. Stand outs on the day include Brad Cooper with a record of 4-0; Eric Flinchum went 4-0;Dustin Center 3-1 losing a heartbreaker after being up 6-0 and getting pinned in the third period. Cumberland will be in action again this weekend at Campbellsville Universtiy.

    Hoosier duals

He is now at 125. He wrestled 133 at the Pembrooke open and won it but he dropped to 125 for the Hoosier duals and went 2-2. He is battling an old injury so he will be the same old Richo this year as last but it will just take a little while. 125 was a rough weight class this past weekend.
  16. University wrestlers competeted in the Ashland open and fair well against some stiff competition. 141-Brad Cooper (KY)blew away the competition winning the 1st place with a major decision in the finals 13-0 149-Dustin Center (OH)placed first over some Division II and III ranked graplers. 157-Blake Germaine (FL) placed fifith 174-Matt Reis (KY) Took second with a hard fought battle in the finals 184-Bobby Jablonski (FL) placed sixth 285-Eric Flinchum (FL)placed first with a win over Divison I ranked wrestler in the final. Cumberland will be competing in the Indiana Hoosier duals against all Division I schools over thanskgiving break.

First of all Scott will never start because of Childres and even if he does he never beats Brooks Probably gets stuck. Are you kidding about Murton and Richo you do realize Richo is a national champion in College and Murton didnt even place at the high school level so That answers that. Lets not forget Cooper Teched Murton 15-0 last year should I say it again 15-0 Seta Is going 157 so I hear but if he goes 149 yes he will win but less then major. 165 clemons probably wins 174 Waller could handle Todd allen last year in the room but redshirted and Allen Teched and majored Branham so that speeks for its self. 184 Again are you kidding about Deadrick over Price he got beat twice last year by Hernandez and Hernandez dont even belong on the same mat as Price. 197- Will be good match with Prophet and Jackson or he gets Majored by flinchum. HWT- Again if Flinchum goes here he wins hands down if Prophet goes here he wins. So there you have it again.

Here is the possible match-up between UOTC and CU. UOTC CU 125-(delricho/Brooks- vs. Childres - Pin/tech or major for UOTC depending on Brooks or Richo 133-Delricho/Brooks vs. Murton- Major for Richo or close match for Brooks 141-Cooper vs. Flake/Murton or whomever Major/tech/pin for Cooper 149-Center vs. Murton/Flake major for Center i he gets on top where he is nasty 157-Germaine/Stephenson vs. clemons ? If Clemons is here he gets major/tech/pin 165- Stephenson/Simmons vs. ?/Clemons Again if Clemons is here its another tech/pin/major 174- Waller vs. ?/Clemons as stated earlier but dont see him this heavy. Waller beats anybody. 184- Price vs. ? I dont see anybody from CU beating Price who is very dangerous. 197-Flinchum/Prophet vs. Cant think of name but was AA. If Flinchum a major for UOTC if Prophet will be a great match. Heavy- Flinchum/ Prophet vs. ? Will take a really reallly good heavy to beat Flinchum or Prophet. Oh yeah Prophet is JUCO AA. The way I see it UOTC wins this year hands down CU may get two or three matches. In the future CU may make this a little closer match but UOTC always has some great recruits and just seems to reload not go empty. Tell me what you think.

    Cumberland?

I dont know if I would call the mats filthy because they are mopped every day three times a day, one in between each session. However I do understand why people get infintigo and its usually because of the wrestlers who go back to the cafe or their rooms and never take off their wrestling shoes or work out gear. Also it is essential for wrestlers to take a shower in between each of the three daily sessions. You cant just go jump in the Cumberland pool and think well I am clean. Another way to prevent the infintigo from spreading is to sit out as soon as you see something coming up and to not try and hide it and spread your case.
  22. I am extending an invitation to all wrestlers and their coaches to attend our State Champ camp. This camp has been a success in the past and has pushed several participants to the next level with the training they have recieved. The camp consists of individual sessions broken up into levels of experience for wrestlers. This camp is also very unique because of its dual and individaul tournament format. You dont have to bring your whole team to participate in those sessions you will be placed on one and a coach will be assigned for the day. If you have any questions on cost negotiations or other related questions please contact me through email at dbrown40@hotmail.com or by phone at 606-521-0923. You can also check out the camp broucher on line at http://www.cumberlandcollege.edu/athletics/wrestling/mens/camps/ Thanks Assistant coach Dustin Brown [attachment deleted by admin]

    Cumberland?

well Larue comes every year and they are constantly in the top two to three teams in Ky. Alot of Florida kids come to the camp and as you know florida is a powerhouse state at wrestling. Alos it has some of the best coaches and wrestlers in the nation teaching the sessions and wrestling with the students. what I am trying to say is yes its a great camp that gives a good mix of instructors, wrestling competition, and good sleeping quarters with cafeteria food.
