Zeus 117 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 Kyle Ruschell, formerly of Ryle High School has moved up in the NCAA Div I rankings for the University of Wisconsin. The coaches association had Kyle at 11th in the preseason rankings. As of Dec 12 he is listed at number 6. This is very impressive considering he has moved up a weight class and it happens to be 149, which is widely considered to be one of the toughest weight classes in the country. If Brent Metcalf of Iowa was not at the same weight I would consider Ruschell to have a decent shot at a national title; as it stands I think he could end up in the top four come March. Good job Kyle and keep up the hard work!Richard Starks, formerly of Woodford County High School has also moved up in the rankings for the United States Military Academy (West Point). In the preseason listings the coaches association had Starks at 16th which is good but not considered a solid contender for an All-American status. However yesterday the new rankings were released and with Starks at 13. This is still darkhorse AA territory but it shows that Starks has been a steady performer. With the improvements I know Richard will make throughout the season and a little luck I think he can make it two All-Americans from Kentucky at the NCAA Championships. Keep plugging away Richard, your hard work will soon pay off!!Great job to both wrestlers in representing your state and respective schools.
