Old School 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 I heard Tates Creek will also be there??? Is this true???Are they replacing Paul Dundar :?If all the regions send two teams then I guess the host would not be able to participate.Either way it should be an exciting weekend. KYgrappler 4 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 "It's our first time in team history attending the state duals."Not sure who told you this, tc 285, but its very wrong. In 98, for instance Tates Creek attended the duals and placed in the top 8. We beat Wayne county and I think Valley but lost to woodford, who was in our pool. I know that 98 wasn't the 1st time, either.Your team has a lot more history than you think.
Assessor 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 The State Duals were started by the Kentucky Wrestling Coaches Association because the KHSAA does not provide a state duals tournament. The results (1st and 2nd place) are listed on their web site. This is an Invitational Tournament with the top two teams from each region being invited. However, not all teams accept and there has always been substitions(host school or other teams that did not qualify but want to participate). This is a pool formate with the winner of each pool wrestling for places 1-4,the runner-up of each pool wrestling for 5-8. The 3rd and 4th place teams from each pool then wrestle one more match but do not wrestle out for place. So you have a two way tie for 9th, 11th, 13th and 15th. The top 4 teams are seeded then the other #1's are drawn in then the #2's are drawn in(the #1 and #2 from each region are placed on opposite sides of the brackett). All of the proceeds from this tournament go th the KWCA, so come on out and see the best teams dual at Henry Clay this saturday.

archibaldhumperdink 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 Where is PRP in all of this. Last year they were one match from winning regions and now not attending the state duals. What gives.....any insight.....do they have all their returning wrestlers, I know coaching has changed but it should not make much of a differnence. What happened?.
