I think I might be willing to trade my coaches salary and teaching salary to get this changed. I am tired of loosing stud atheletes who dont want to look goofy. Face it no one looks tough or can be taken seriouosly with that stupid singlet. I have only been coaching for the past five years but every year at different schools and counties I see the same thing. Johnny stud dropping off because of what others might think of them for wearing the singlet. I know teachers dont make much but seriously lets do what ever we have to to get the uniform changed. I think the shorts and rash gaurd are the perfect fix. If you want the best of the best competing this is the next move for wrestling. Wrestling has grown so much here and it has even more potential. Every year I post soemthing similar but nothing happens. I guess people are convinced that it would be a liability but as long as the shorts have some type of secure belt then I dont see them falling down or tangling up. Help the sport grow why not. As mentioned before someone said you have never seen an MMA fighter get their fingers caught in them. Truth is they have been tested and they do work and are safe and would increase the participation in the sport. That seems to make way too much sense to move forward with. Some one will surely respond with the argument that tradition is tradition just wear the darn thing well Im all about the future of this sport. Change already. It is what is best for kids and thats all that matters right?

I am the former head wrestling coach out at south oldham and due to budget cuts next year I will not be working there. Any programs out there need an experienced 4 year head coach. Also looking for a PE/health oppennign since I am certified to teach those ares. I also coach football wrestling and track. Any one interested contact me with the info below. sometimes the opurtunity of beating a guy like davis on paper may affect your decision making process when it comes to hmmm should I get up and loose or should I just take the easy way out stay down and get the paper victory. Not saying that is what happened but I have seen people do this and who knows. I think what determines whos morals are in the right place is did the kid who couldnt get back up during that match wrestle after that? Or was it the finals. if he wrestled after that then it makes it seem questionable. If it was the finals it makes it seem questionable. There is no good answer here. It is always a shame when the match cant be clearly decided by the wreslters. I was not there I do not take sides I am just saying some kids see the oppurtunity and take it. That being said I dont think this is something that Rob Fulk teaches whatso ever. I still think 10 times out of ten davis dominates that match. We will see at state. Please dont be offended north when I say I have seen it happen I am talking about other schools. I have nothing but respect for both school involved. May the best man win at state.

Jason Sedoris Valley Tony Mills PRP ME from the depths of the unknown the only wrestler to ever represent his school as the only wrestler on the team period. Thats gotta be good for something. Wrestling and trainning by your self for two months and getting top 5 in state...that dosent happen too often. When I say the only wrestler for the school I literally mean I had not one teamate. Thats fun trainning.LOL :-P

Shetler from South Oldham in 98 couldnt have been that good I beat him at state by pin in the first period and I only wrestled two months of my life before state my senior year. Not that I am awsome by any means ...right the opposite actually thats my point. Maybe he was injured or something because I think he screamed in pain when I pinned him. Then the refs may have stopped the match after that, so I dont know if I got the pin or they stopped the match... But the ref slapped the mat and seemed as though I pinned him. I only got 5th place too so I dont know if getting beat by a no body who learned three moves before state makes you one of the all time greats. I dont know maybe he was. Hey maybe I was one of the greats....uhh definatley not. Would have been cool to learn more moves early on as a freshman at least or something. Athletic ability only gets you so far. Not to mention I wrestled like I was fighting just no punches. Took every match personally. I wanted to destroy opponents and I think that mean streak is what got me through. Again maybe he was previously injured before the match who knows.

Can U be pinned with one shoulder in and the other out??? I know the answer I just want clarification because this ref cost me first place in our regional tournament as a team due to the incorect call. I wont say what side of that one I was on but someone clarify this so that all new refs can see what is supposed to be called and not just take my word for it. Lets see what is in the rule book shall we?

If you want the kid to grow as a wrestler then move up with his age group. He will not benefit from pumeling younger kids. Also academics are affected the same way. Hey what good is winning state if I am two years older than you at 8th grade. I realize I dont have all the details here but jeeze common sense must take over at some point...right??
