Henderson wrestlers win own tournament

Henderson County won its own Henderson County Duals tournament Saturday at Colonel Gym.

The Colonels were 4-0 in the event, defeating regional opponents Apollo, Ohio County, University Heights and Calloway County.

Several Colonels were perfect on the day. Bryce Alexander, Scott Hogan, Chris Meriwether, Zach Pearson, Chris Forest and Cory Roberts all went 4-0 in their matches. Jackson Daugherty, Brandon Brack and Chris Mohn posted 3-1 records. Eric Buchanan was 2-2, Andrew Mullen went 1-1, while Nathan Davis finished at 1-3.

"I am extremely pleased with the performance of the fellas, especially this early in the season. It was great for the team to win this event and should give them a boost of confidence," Henderson County coach J.R. Bryant said.

The Colonels travel to Hopkinsville on Wednesday to face University Heights.
