Missouri Wins The MAC Championships Breaks MAC scoring record.

The Missouri Tigers proved without a doubt that they are the premier Team in The MAC conference and one of the Best in the country this Weekend in Cedar Falls at the McLeod center home of the University of Northern Iowa Panthers .

 Led by srs Jden Cox and Lavion Mayes they dismantled the competition  and avenged a bad loss to the Panthers at home by Breaking the MAC championship scoring record and amassing 154.5 point 48 points ahead of the UNI teams 106 also tying their own record of margin of victory in the MAC Championships 6 TIGERS TOOK FIRST PLACE Cox ,Mayes ,Eirman,Ernesto, Lewis,and former NHSCA HS nat champ Joey Lavalle. Two other Tigers made the National Championships Barlow McGhee finished 5TH EARNING A national championship berth and Kentuckys own Austin Myers the redshirt Freshman from Alexandria KY and The state championship  Campbell County Camels the former NHSCA wrestler of the year and multi x HS nat champ and Fargo AA took a rough double ot loss to a Gage Hutchison  whom he had lost to previously 4 to 0 .Austin had numerous shot attempts to Hutchisons no offense and zero shot attempts and lost a Heartbreaker that set up the hardest road possible for him to win out and earn his bid to nationals.

The #1 seed Zack Parker of Ohio lost in his semis to Jake Gunning whom Austin had beaten earlier this seaso  setting up a possible and inevitable rematch for Myers against an opponent who had majored him earlier this yr.Austin had a great conso semis match against Central Michigan's Newton Smerchek  whom he had beaten 6 to 2 earlier this yr Picking up a major Dec victory over a tough opponent that set up the rematch with #1seed Parker .

In the 3rd place match the first period was pretty even with Austin taking the only shot attempt and the two measuring each others weaknesses,Parker  took the lead with an escape in the second and Austin  tied it up with one of his own in the 3rd Parker working under hooks and Austin looking for shots as had been the case pretty much with every match of Austins his opponents waiting on his shot hoping to score on go behinds .late in the third Austin picked up his pace a bit attempted a shot backed up came in hit his double snaps and drove in on a double switching off to a single got the leg up  and after a furious struggle took Parker down where he would remain the final seconds of the match giving Austin the 3 to 1 win and avenging his earlier season loss to the MAC ranked #1 Zack Parker from  the Ohio U and earn his birth to his first NCAA National championships .

JDEN COX EARNED MVP AND THE MIZZOU TIGERS PICK UP THEIR SIXTH STRAIGHT CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP SENDING 8 INDIVIDUAL WRESTLERS TO THE DIV 1 NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP HELD IN........ST LOUIS MISSOURI HOME OF THE MISSOURI TIGERS AND KENTUCKYS OWN AUSTIN TYLER MYERS ATM ...The King .

Story book tournament for the Tigers after losing at home on Sr day to UNI and Storybook tournament for Austin  whom I think most had written off after his semis loss.I knew all along he could do it he is not the person you want to wrestle over and over he finds ways to improve and more times than not beat you .He will be one of very few if any fresh at NCAAS in his class and it meant a whole lot to him and his team there will be a large group of Tigers in St Louis hopefully the two remaining can get at large bids to join their teammates. Great job all around by the Missouri team Coaches and wrestlers .
