Wrestlers go 4-1 at Super Duals

The LaRue County Hawks wrestling team went 4-1 at the Oldham Super Duals on Dec. 2, losing to arch rival Woodford County, 30-42.

Four wrestlers, Matt Miller, Lucas Carman, Bryant Barnhill and Des Jakes, were 5-0 for the day.

The Hawks shellacked three of their opponents with ease. They defeated Moore, 64-9; Scott County, 65-8; and Holmes, 78-6. Simon Kenton put up a bigger fight, but the Hawks prevailed, 55-21.

Wrestlers who scored pins were Brandon Ward, Carman, Evan Smith, Jakes, Barnhill, Joe Embree, Justin Thompson, Logan Hull, Darwin Perez, Scott Wheeler, Jake Shipp, Joey Henderson, Brandon Wood, David Hill, Miller and Justin Underwood.

Carman pulled off the quickest pin of the day against his Simon Kenton opponent at 18 seconds.
