IOC Session Votes Wrestling as Provisional Sport

• Kentucky USA Wrestling is extremely pleased with the opportunity the IOC has given the sport of wrestling to continue its long and rich Olympic tradition.

• We have made a lot of significant improvements and changes to our sport—leadership, governance, rules, presentation and marketing -- and are excited about the progress we have made and what ...the future has in store.

• We could not have won this important vote without the passionate support and countless volunteer hours of the best fans in the world. We wish to thank the tens of thousands of you who donated your time or money to the sport of wrestling this year, because without you, we simply would not be in the Olympics. Thank you!

• Our goal is to be a Core Sport and we are willing to work hard to show the IOC that we belong as a permanent member of the Olympic family.

• It is important to note this is not the end of our campaign and though this was an important step, many of our goals remain. We will build from the momentum of this success, and continue to expand and improve the sport.
