w285bigman 2 Report post Posted December 10, 2012 I haven't heard anything about region 8 yet this year. This is traditionally a strong region but seems to be slipping a little over the last couple of years. Who is the up and coming new kids and who is the top 4 in each weight class. Does anyone have any opinions on Region 8?
Bluesdad 73 Report post Posted December 10, 2012 I know Johnson Central should be strong again. I know they lost JJ Jude and John Conley to graduation but they still have some solid kids. They have a good group of kids. Geordon Blanton, Brad Auxier, Josh Jude, Jordan Ray, Jimmy Preston, Sam Preston, Chris Neice, and Chase Blevins are a few names to watch out for. A couple of new young kids to moving to. Should be a solid team.
Just Another Wrestler 1 Report post Posted December 11, 2012 Wayne county is in region 8 as well correct? if so they are a contender as well,
w285bigman 2 Report post Posted December 11, 2012 Sheldon Clark use to be a powerhouse are they likely to climb in the picture this year. Also, Whitley Co and McCreary Co are pretty tough every once in a while what do they look like this year? Perry Co has improved over the last couple of years will they get even better this year? Does anyone have a chance to knock Johnson Co off the top of the mountain this year. A lot of questions for region * and I would also like to here from some people about who they think will be the top 4 in each weight class and also how region 8 stacks up against other regions! Bluesdad 73 Report post Posted December 11, 2012 It will come down to Johnson Central and Wayne Co. again.
Just Another Wrestler 1 Report post Posted December 12, 2012 yes most likely and it should be a pretty close one... personally i havent seen either team wrestle this year yet but i should make a point to do so
w285bigman 2 Report post Posted December 13, 2012 Yeah should be a coin toss between the 2 but I will give the edge to JC to re-peat as region champs. Does anyone have any input to who the top 4 in each weight class might be?
Just Another Wrestler 1 Report post Posted December 14, 2012 that would be much appreciated lol
tcats 4 Report post Posted December 21, 2012 Ashland is looking pretty good I wouldn't count them out. They return a good core group and pretty good group of freshman that could make some noise.

Bluesdad 73 Report post Posted January 3, 2013 Josh Jude #1 at 138 Jordan Young #1 at 145 Jimmy Preston #1 at 160 Chris Niece #1st
w285bigman 2 Report post Posted January 3, 2013 Yeah at 170 it should have been Jimmy preston instead of Sam. I agree with that if that's the weight classes they are going except for 220. Vanover is a beast and he wins 220 hands down!
Bluesdad 73 Report post Posted January 3, 2013 I don't know Neice practicing everyday with Sam Preston has really helped him find his mean streak. I also think Geordon Blanton should be #2 and maybe #1 at 120. He beat a top ranked Va kid #2 or 3 I think over the weekend at The Grundy tourney.
w285bigman 2 Report post Posted January 3, 2013 He may be able to beat Criswell if he makes no mistakes but Criswell is a domminant wrestler but no way he beats Siler IMHO because Siler is also a beast. However, I have heard rumors of Siler moving to 113!
w285bigman 2 Report post Posted January 29, 2013 Well it is official: Wayne, McCreary and Whitley counties will be making their last apperance at the Region 8 Tournament this year. They will be missed in the mountains.

This should be a good tournament! I had heard Mink was dropping to 160 and Jimmy Preston was still deciding if he stays at 160 and jmho that's what he should do I'd put him ahead of Mink at 160. Parriman is tough and with Mink/J Preston at 160 those 2 weight classes should provide some excitement at the horsepark. I think you did a great job of breaking everything down .. we have region 1 and you at region 8 and i'm doing all of 170 now if we can just get the others covered regions 2-
