Got it. Thanks I will follow through

Someone needs to be contacted and made aware. Does anyone know contact information for those above President Hunter ? I will begin an email chain tonight and start making phone calls tomorrow myself. We just started into this sport and I would like to fully support it by making those if authority aware of the chaos occurring. I’m sure fines and penalties will be enforced if we all come together to get it done.

So does anyone have an opinion on this? Looks like due to MS season length now the bylaws need to be adjusted is my point. Not saying I agree or disagree, just saying it should be considered universal. (Again- I’m new to all of this and learning as we go) While the above makes sense and like you said “hasn’t changed” the same is NOT in place for placing at HS state thus making the child ineligible to compete middle school state. It should be considered a universal bylaw and “grandfathered” in per say when considering the child eligibility for middle school after they have placed at the high school state level. Just like if you place in middle school state deeming you ineligible for youth.

Just putting this out here. I guess if there is not any stipulations between MS,HS, and youth, I guess a child can win state for HS, then state title for MS the following weekend, then the next day wrestle 14U/12u or whatever their birth year is at state and win a title at every level. Something, again, does not seem right here.
-
So I’m assuming the rule will be null/void for MS and youth now as well? For instance- kids can now compete MS state and place/win, then compete youth the next day if they are not technically Middle school and are an elementary age? Since the high school/middle school thing is acceptable…
-
Oh I see what you are saying- so this had never had a reason to be addressed before.

This is completely absurd. There should be no stipulation between Middle school and youth state if there is none between high school and middle school. Why should it be any different? I guess I need to actually contact a governing body such as USA wrestling board instead of a forum to better understand this. I’m new to all of this just this year and learning as I go, but that seems completely unfair, needs a universal rule.

So let me get this straight… a kid cannot place in top 4 at middle school then compete their age/weight at youth state. But a kid can go to high school state and win/place and can still win/place same at middle school?!? Something seems wrong with this if I’m understanding correctly?!? please clarify.

How was this decision made? No vote? Again, can’t imagine this decision of Belfry was convenient to the majority of KY?!?
