Is that Beric Jordan? Is that your son? He’s a a monster wrestler. George is very good too. the Internet was an issue but alotnof that could be fixed easily with a huge bout board. Similar to what is used at Bristol Brawl. Food wasn’t great but had several options to run out and grab something Easily unlike broadbent. I would like to keep having it here. It felt like state unlike High school. We need Alex Green to handle the music and mic though. He really did a great job at Pikeville.

No question the best pound for pound wrestlers in the state are the Raneys. Then probably Dalton Matney. Jordan Raney and Matney will be wrestling up a weight class. Jayden has moved up a class as well but probably filling that weight out.

To see if he was 8th grade last year. He wasn’t. Lol.

Probably. I don’t know. But i don’t think he even wrestled high school that year. I know I’ve looked at a lot of teams rosters on the opc and they have kids listed that aren’t even on the team.

Jd was in 7th grade last year. They had entered the roster in wrong. He provided transcripts showing he was in 7th.

That will be the semi finals.

We have always gone with the high placement. We can’t set down and determine what’s a weaker or stronger weight class. That would be based on opinions.

Region 3 is so small they don’t have A lot hosting options it seems.

I understand the frustration. I for one think they should just ban high school state placers from middle school. However that is not the rule. Yes there are two monsters in there that hasn’t lost in high school. I don’t think they have lost in a few years. Now i don’t know of any repeat 8th graders. At least not any that had a complaint filed against them. Some one filed a complaint against a kid with a lot of wrong information in it. That kid was not a repeat 8th grader.

Region 1- 201 Region 2- 179 Region 3- 124 Region 4-205 not including Woodford Region 5-128 Region 1 has increased their number for this year. Region 4 is still the biggest as usual. I am always surprised by how small region 3 and 5 are.

It was worse the last few years. Region 1 dramatically increased their numbers. When there were youth regionals the difference was insane. Region four was bigger than any two regions in youth.

I don’t know any 16 year olds. Because the covid bill didn’t waive the age requirements. Additionally I don’t know if they can retro actively disqualify them from competition.

I have a feeling that would be the opposite as hard as some people are trying to keep some of their kids from wrestling right now. Harrison co isn’t entered into their weights.

I’m not saying it’s right or wrong. I’m saying I would rather seen it taken to ot. I think Ferree still wins. He was doing a fantastic job. However this isn’t that cut and dry and is some area for interpretation. At 13 seconds it looks like Herron raises up off the ankle and ferree didn’t attempt to move his ankle down. I don’t know I’m not him. But I do think Herron pushes the lines a lot in his matches and maybe this is just an example of it catching up to him.

Absolutely. I don’t want to bash any ref. Maybe one or two lol. But you and your dad are class acts. Your dad is one of my favorites and is good for the sport. I didn’t realize that was your dad till this weekend. Congrats to you. a very special moment. And a side note I though you did a great job.

I hate to complain about refs because it’s so hard to keep them. And it’s a very hard job. Everyone misses things and makes mistakes. But it’s insane to me when they purposely dictate the match. Such as the stall dq and The 157 match with Herron. I know several of the refs did not like his behavior but to make the stall call with 6-8 seconds left is crazy. Both kids had conceded to take it to overtime and they hit one with stalling to prevent that. Right call or not I would rather see that decided by the wrestlers in ot. Ruined one of the best matches of the tournament.

This gave me chills. Two of the best wrestlers in the state beat and banged on each other. Trying to force the other into the will for 6 minutes. Physical match. As soon as it was over the respect to each other was amazing. Two amazing young men who give all the glory to God.

Jacob Murton was one of the most dominant wrestlers in the state. 3x state champ. Brother Jairus Murton was a 2x state champ.
