That’s untrue that last year was the first time a 7th grader won HS state. It has happened before.

So hypothetically a 7th grader could win HS state, go on to win MS state, and if so desired could wrestle at youth state in their respective age bracket and win that too??? LOL IMO if a MS kid even places at HS state they shouldn’t be permitted to wrestle in MS.

Any big shakeups in any of the regions? Any ranked kids getting knocked out of semi state? Dark horses emerging? Wanted to make it out to catch region 4 but this old body wasn’t feeling too great.

What happened in region 3? A kid got DQ? Or forfeit? 113 bracket. As someone said above what happen to Woodfords Luke Hill? How about Herbst at 120. Like seeing these 7th graders in there. Herbst. Livingston. Roberts.

I can’t help but feel bad for their teammates in their respective weight classes. Shutting them out of a chance at an individual title state title seems pretty selfish IMO because we all know they won’t be beat.

Sometimes I hate the whole speculation aspect but I get that’s part of it….at the end of the day can’t we all just show up and wrestle and let chips fall where they may? No ducking or dodging. Just leave it all in the mat and what happens happens. Just me.

I bet that’s it. I forgot about the Covid repeat year option.

Aren’t the Raney’s wrestling HS? They should win that easily so why do MS? Or is it just speculation that they’ll do both?

I thought the youngest you could be to compete in middle school state was 4th grade. Maybe that changed. But still scratching my head how one is still in middle school in 2022.

What was y’alls favorite/most exciting match of the tourney? Moore and Thomas in the finals. That sure was a heart stopper.

The grandson got sent home from school yesterday with the flu or I would have for sure let him compete with you guys. If there’s ever another opportunity post it please.

Agreed! On both statements. You hate it for a kid that a call like that can basically decide a match. It was an awesome match too though.

That is how it should be. Great kid. A lot of kids could learn from this. Reflects on what great parents and coaches he has surrounding him.
