I believe only the 12U and 14U are over 2 days. MS state in it's entirety is session one.
  10. Has a venue been secured? I saw on Trackwrestling that all the other regions have been set.

    MS STATE 2021

With everything going on, did the board have the Spring meeting? I've not been able to locate the meeting minutes online. I am wondering if they have decided on a venue for next year's finals. Pikeville? Bowling Green? I know it's seven months from now but it's been a LONG off season so far.

They must not mean Indiana because despite their Covid 19 numbers being a multiple of Kentucky's they are in phase 5. I was listening to the South Dearbon game tonight and the announcers said the stands were full because the restrictions had been lifted. Go figure.

    Toughest weight classes at state

Okay then, here is the most current growth chart for boys 2 to 19 years of age and also a little light reading to substantiate the update. http://www.who.int/childgrowth/standards/Growth_standard.pdf. WHO 2006.pdf

    Toughest weight classes at state

Not speaking as a father but from the point of view of someone who knows a little about the human anatomy and it's development. Let's agree that the average age of an incoming freshman is 14 years old. This assumption omits any child that has failed to meet the academic requirements to advance with his peers or may have been "held back" for a variety of reasons. Now if you will look at the attached chart from the CDC pertaining to the weight for age percentiles for boys, ages 2 to 20, you will see that approximately 37.5% of 14 year old males weight 106 pounds or less. So based on this information, the "no-brainer" move to eliminate the 106 category could exclude over 1/3 of potential freshman wrestlers or make them give up a minimum of 7 pounds to compete at 113. cdc.pdf
