They did. It was a pimple/ingrown hair in his beard. It was tiny. Other kids have 10x worse on their backs.

He ended up wrestling in the state tournament as an alternate and upset, as I recall, the #1 wrestler in the state in the first round with a pin via a standing cradle (opponent may not have been #1, but he was a 1 seed). He would end up wrestling that same wrestler in the consolation semifinals and proceeded to get teched. He would go on to place 5th. Dials became a state champion two years later.
It’s these kind of stories that make me love this sport so much.

I’d say the 14 champs- then Jari, Logan Brown, Walls, Mayes, Kshaun Brown, Sherril.

It’s on the page. You pick all 8 placers.

It’s not talked about enough. It’s expected in this sport, but not always shown. My friends and I all noticed a kid that was dominant and gracious at the same time. He pinned an opponent and helped him up. He wrestled a great match in the finals and shook his opponent’s hand and even hugged him. Caleb Mayes showed he is to be feared at 144 and that he is a great kid.

Best I saw was Heady vs Campbell. Jenkins vs Walls was good. Brown vs Wimberly was good.

Brackets are built. Not open to public yet.

Now is the wait for brackets to be built.

If john doe is wrestling 144 all year but then bumps up to 150 for regionals, then kids from regions that haven't had the meeting will be able to change weights knowing which gives them the best path.
True. There’s not any big surprises in region 1, but if the Raneys dropped, there would be a lot of last minute changes.

A better question is who’s not seeded in the top 4 is going to make it through?
-
Who has done it lately? I see Trinity Gottler is a 3 seed.
-
He tried Jordyn at state duals.

Not looking forward to state.

If you think Ky State is great, do not watch Indiana or Iowa. I love this sport and love following it, but I’m not that excited for state. Being packed in a high school gym for 2 days with all the breaks for no reason and people standing in your way at the rail. I really can’t understand why it can’t be changed to somewhere more accommodating. I’m afraid it’s going to be much bigger this year. I was at Atherton and saw standing room only at Ryle. It’s gonna be a mess. Anyone else feel this way?
