I'm with you that I prefer the individual tournament format.  But duals have definitely grown on me over the years and I really enjoy it when a team gets behind each other especially when they realize the "worst" kid in the lineup is actually important to the team success.  I we have 100% seen that worst kid literally win duals for us.  And I will add, yes putting words in my kid's mouth, I think Spencer would say some of the highlights of his high school career were dual meets even on the same level as winning his state titles.

Spencer wrestling Hoppes at state duals was one of the coolest moments I have seen in the sport.

  2. This is shaping up to be one heckuva camp! Coach Murton is bringing some college guys with him. Ryan and Tylan showing techniques that helped them compete with some of the best guys in the country. Alex Green is even coming down to interview some past state champs and do a couple other really cool videos. Maybe Alex will video some future state champs getting better while he is there! And that’s the essence of wrestling right dude? Coin flip of a match? Honestly it wouldn’t matter because Goss would’ve  dominated both of them. Let’s be honest.

Now your just fishing for reactions. Beane beat Goss at state duals a few weeks ago. The only losers are the fans who dont get to see some of Ky's top kids compete against each other on the biggest stage.

  4. Wow after reading this I am a bigger fan of your son than I was before. First met him at Midwest Nationals 4 years ago, and even then he carried himself like an adult.  Then in Michigan this summer wrestling national level kids at least 20-30 pounds bigger and never wavering or complaining. I know his season didn't end the way he expected, but know he's a champion to all that have been around him. Good luck in the future Collin
