What I understand he was dq'd for punching. So he did not place/ qualify for state. I may not have gotten the real story.

Mr. Duke remember he is not just a parent. He is a board member that has been voted into a position to make decesions to better our sport.

The Spatola Classic has added a girls division this year. Youth - adult open. So girls bring your Moms and get on the mat. Seriously, this tournament has gotten much better since he moved to UC.

I hope it does Not happen. I have twins wrestling Ms. They take a beating but both are All Americans. When we go to all girl national tournaments they dominate. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with DocG. Just not the weekend before State. Too many risks involved this late in the game. Injuries or skin funk. No thanks.

I agree. State duals should be held mid season. Why risk injury or your State seed the weekend before The Big Show. I cannot imagine any coaches would risk the head to head battle of their number 1 seeds. Plus, several number 1's won't even wrestle ms. They will be with their H.S. team. For that reason alone this tournament proves very little.

I would like to hear from these 10% of (coaches) that voted for this rule change. Why in the Hell would you vote this rule change in? Stand up and explain yourselves.

This is a dead horse. Matt Lee and I tried to change this when we headed up the youth. It was voted down immediately. It is truly painful to watch people justify why an age appropriate child can't compete at every level.

They did a great job nice tournament for a first year. Addison got revenge on the girl who beat her at Okc. Olivia wrestled up to 105 and dominated the Indiania and Ohio girls. NICE JOB Team Mess Twins!!!! If you dig it, do it. If you dig it alot,do it twice!!!!

Athena Nationals was a great event. I recommend you bring your girls to this event. No expense spared. If they keep this up they will be second only to the OKC Nationals. Great first tournament.

Excellent points. My answer to that is to reward the girls with as many National Tournaments for girls only as possible. As far as injuries go, the only injury to my girls was in an all girls tournament. War of the roses. She broke her ankle. It was a fluke accident. Could have happened against anyone. Yes strength has already proven to be significant but thats part of the grind. I just preach to mine out wrestle don't try to out muscle. Technique, Technique, Technique!!!

I just returned from Oklahoma city girls folkestyle nationals. Just wanted to share 3 young Ky girls had a great tournament. NATIONAL CHAMPIONS: Lauren Walton 85lbs. Olivia Messerly 80lbs. RUNNER UP: Addison Messerly 102lbs. Great Job Ladies! I believe Ky girls do very good at the National level because they wrestle boys all season. As a father of two girl wrestlers, I would hate to see our state have an all girls division. They take a beating but at the end of the day it makes them so much better than the women who only wrestle women. Just my 2 cents.

My vote: Spencer Moore - He could win at 70,75,80 and maybe even 86. Glad he can only wrestle in one weight class. Noah Duke - He could win 140,152,168. If they are Not in your bracket at state be happy you have a chance of winning a Ms State Title.
