Not so obvious but maybe that's because it's me and I often miss the obvious hehe. For us slow folk out in western KY can you please not speak in code?

    Ms State Duals

How is it a double standard?
  3. Mattingly has looked very tough and a favorite at 120. When Deck went to 113 Wallace was put at 1 over Mattingly because of previous results i.e. defending state champ only lose is to Deck. Can't argue against that reasoning either. Not a knock against Mattingly just unfortunate for him that Adams got a crack at Wallace first. I say because of the win Adams #1 Mattingly #2.
  4. Bacon is sizzling in Union county.
  5. KY does have quite a few girls coming up the ranks. If your girl wrestler has high level goals and aspirations in this sport and would like to look into an opportunity to train year round with like minded female wrestlers this very well could be the way to go. There can't be very many high school wrestlers out there getting this kind of high level training and exposure on a daily basis. USA wrestling is very committed to developing our young female wrestlers and help them develop into international champions and are working to identify them at a younger age. https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Wrestling/Features/2018/January/25/Wyoming-Seminary-girls-to-battle-Canada-during-Myhouse-Melee

Will KY be a part of this? Would be great for so many friends and family members that can't make the trip. http://www.trackwrestling.com/tw/PortalPost.jsp?TIM=1516912862676&twSessionId=rsoifrbcyyculsj&postId=356362132&utm_content=buffer3d5eb&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

KY needs to close the GAP between other states!

Ain't that some crap! Well let's see. I guess since state will be over with everyone will travel to USA wrestling national championship in Iowa.

KY needs to close the GAP between other states!

Regionals is a middle school thing, right? Tulsa Nationals is 6u, 8u, 10u, 12u &15u. Not all middle school ages.
  11. Congrats to Kairus Washington on his #18 ranking on Trackwrestling's Nike Rankings. http://www.trackwrestling.com/tw/PortalPost.jsp?TIM=1516329044529&twSessionId=nxdgzeemygdqzmp&postId=293549132

    Fausz #3 in coaches' rankings!

He is certainly showing himself to be a monster. Pat Popolizio is doing a great job there at NC State. Finish strong Sean.

KY needs to close the GAP between other states!

When talking about getting better or closing the gap on other states why is it we seem to focus on the off season or learning multiple disciplines more than seeking out better competition? Tulsa Nationals is this weekend. Here is a list of Iowa youth wrestlers attending. How many do we have from KY attending? https://iawrestle.com/2018/01/18/iowans-competing-at-tulsa-nationals/

Advice for week long youth camps in summer.

Former Union County coach Marcus Hoehn has a club in the St. Louis area and he has camps throughout the summer. He limits the numbers so all kids get the attention they need. Coach Marcus is one of the best at making this sport fun for kids while helping us parents keep things in perspective. His always positive vibes and outlook makes a huge impact on kids. http://twamissouri.com As for early August, Sebolt Academy out of Iowa has a great camp that is a week long camp. This is a camp where the boys stay onsite for the week. Coach Sebolt is very selctive so to keep it a very competitive camp. It's called the Man of Steel camp. He has an elem/jr high camp and a jr high/high school. These camps are always loaded with hammers from across the country not just Iowa boys. From a mental toughness perspective, i believe this camp to be leaps and bounds above any other. https://seboltwrestling.jimdo.com/camps/

Top 10 middle school wrestlers in Kentucky

Now, to your point regarding the 2 matches. The scores don't really tell us much. How many times has Blue dominated someone but only won by a couple of points? I see it all the time. I've also seen it the other way around where it's 8-2 and a very good match. How were the points scored and and was there anything going on that might influence the score. For example, there were times in middle school that Zeke was not allowed to score a takedown or reversal in the 1st period simetime first 2 periods. only escapes if he were taken down. He had to intentionally give up his leg and fight off the takedown. There were times he'd be down 4-1 at the end of the 1st. The kid would stall out the rest of the match and it would end with the score looking closer than it teally was. The kid walked off thinking he'd close the gap when in reality it just got wider.

I appreciate that compliment Mr. Fletcher. You know, I was that kid that grew up with a dad like the one in That 70's Show. It was either Hey dumbass! or You jackass! It's good to hear something positive and to be recognized for it as well. Thanks again.

P] Not to be contrary but, aside from Spencer Moore, I can't think of a current middle school wrestler in the state that is consistently winning or placing high at national tournaments or that has wins against other top middle school wrestlers in the nation. If there are some please make us aware of them. We must not keep them a secret. It's important that we recognize them.

Being an Okie as well as an OSU alum (only ESPN says OK State) I was a bit conflicted during this dual but since we came away with the win i was able to appreciate Sean's match a bit more than I had initially. Great win!!!!
