    East Oldham Duals? 12/6/14?

It looks to be a very competitive tournament. Great job to the East Oldham staff for putting this one together. Excited about it being on trackwrestling.com too.
  8. Much larger national tournaments and I have always been able to purchase a bracelet allowing me to get down on the floor and in my son's corner. I do my best not to coach though. Not because I don't want to. I would just make matter worse for him. . So I just record and cheer him on. Good luck and hope to see you around.
  9. Awesome question Tuckster!!! It sounds like to me you have all the qualifications needed. That being a child you would like to get more mat time as well as expose them to more than KY wrestling. I am certain a Coach's card might be of benefit, but one of the things I've learned about wrestling is that, at all levels, they appreciate a dad traveling with their child to tournaments. In other words, the lack of a Coach's card has never hindered us. I have taken my son to small local tournaments, larger regional tournaments as well as m
  10. Wow! Zeke has a long way to go before his name gets brought up in a conversation like this one. I think you hit the nail on the head though with regards to the success he's enjoyed. Having wrestlers in the room like Gavin is a HUGE BONUS. It's hard to imagine Zeke being where he is without a partner like Gavin pushing him on a daily basis year round.
  11. What weights generally come out to this? Out of the 32 wrestlers from last week, how many were 70-85? We will be in northern KY next weekend and the thought of extra mat time is certainly enticing. Thanks for the opportunity!

    middle school state seeding meeting

As for an earlier post discussing making it mandatory for our wrestlers to attend meets. I think this is a great idea on many fronts. Of course, we couldn't make it mandatory in any way other than for seeding purposes but it would provide the individuals that seed with the necessary information. It will also allow Kentucky the opportunity to showcase its wrestlers to our neighboring states. WV had several teams from OH & IN, John Hardin and Union County had teams from TN & IN. By putting these larger tournaments together and requiring that our own wrestlers attend a certain number throughout the year, we would ensure that these tournaments are filled with the best young wrestlers KY has to offer allowing us to compete with the clubs/wrestlers from TN, OH, IN & and other surrounding states that come to our tournaments. The more competitive they become the more they will grow. We are full of a lot of really good young wrestlers, some great. Lets not keep them a secret. With the relationships our friends in eastern KY have in West Virginia and eastern TN, I am certain they could put together a great tournament and pull in some strong out of state talent for us too. I have heard a lot of people talk about KY not being considered much of a wrestling state. This should put us on the map. Maybe just a small little city on the map but a growing city that's for sure.

    middle school state seeding meeting

I apologize that my point got lost in translation with my earlier post. I was in no way aiming to have a my son out did your son conversation and I never put your son down nor did I attempt to belittle any of his accomplishments. My post was an attempt to illustrate how ridicules your posts can sometimes sound, especially once all the information begins to fall into place. I apologize for not just coming out and saying that. Messages laced with sarcasm, like my previous post, often times are misunderstood. So I apologize for the sarcasm.

    middle school state seeding meeting

So if I understand Bluesdad correctly, he's upset about his son's seed because his son was robbed of an escape point that would have sent his son's match to OT with a wrestler from Region 3 that didn't even qualify for state. I must admit, when I first read this I was a bit puzzled as to why he might be feeling this way but when it came to my attention that his son also lost to the #4 seed from Region 3, I completely understand where he's coming from. For his son to have been robbed of OT with a NKY wrestler that didn't make state then get pinned by a NKY kid that is a 4 seed in his region and finally for his son to be ranked lower than a NKY wrestler that won his region, there is obviously a NKY force working against him. And we all know it isn't due to better more competitive wrestling up north. For Pete's sake he takes his kid to WV, OH and TN so we all know that he's not afraid to travel for competitive wrestling. Obviously, it's just due to the fact that we in KY do not provide that same level of competition so he must go out of state to escape the great force know as NKY. Never mind that his son lost to a kid from TN 8-4 that a KY 70 lb wrestler beat by more than 10 points. That KY wrestler isn't from NKY but he's been there plenty enough over the last year that I wouldn't doubt if the NKY force may have rubbed off on him. Any hoot, all beware. Per Bluesdad, Region 4 has the toughest wrestlers in the state and they never get the credit for it. I'm with him, let's all just shut up and let their wrestling tell the story. Good job Bluesdad. Way to fight the fight.
