    Upset alert at state

Mom of 2 I saw the match you speak of. The miller kid took several shots and finished most of them. He was warned once for taking your son down too hard. He was warned a couple times for locking hands as well. the Shots he did take he got in deep on all of them and he finishes strong. Good luck to your kid, I hope he does great. I hope all the kids wrestle their tails off and they all walk out with their heads held high.

    Upset alert at state

Giannone is solid, don't think he was scored on during districts or regions. I know he's a one seed, but he could be a sleeper and not many people are saying much about him.

    MS State Duals

Biggest complaint is that the refs never rotated mats, and some teams were on the same may the whole time with the same ref, and when a ref is having a bad day and has a problem with someone it makes for a very bad day for that team. I even saw a team leave in the middle of the tournament because of this. MoCo is the perfect venue for wrestling though, love the setup.

    Middle Schhol State

Iwin, I would imagine that if someone has a child wrestling this weekend and there is financial hardship, that the school or coaches would help them out in that respect. I've seen in happen already this year. For a tournament of this size/quality twelve bucks isn't bad. And the awards are amazing for these kids.

    Region 7 Rankings 1/9

Win at WCI was due to a very questionable call, and he always wins MOW when he wins a tourney. Great kid though, and I agree he probably beats Deck in a rematch, but Deck wrestles smart and stays in good position so you never know. Also Bradley Miller almost upset Deck at middle school district this past weekend with Deck needing a last second reversal to pull it off. Should be very interesting to see how it all plays out.
  6. Can we please start using a little punctuation? It might be a little easier to follow some of these mind numbing rants if they were put together coherently. And please, before you attack me for saying this, look at your comments. If they are punctuated, I'm obviously not referring to you. Being someone who doesn't troll the forums nonstop, it is a little hard to follow certain people's comments without feeling some sort of clarification is needed. Thanks in advance.

District 8 Flyer (at Johnson County)

Can someone please post full results? We're there any brackets with less than 4 kids? I'm sure there are some 5th place kids from district 7 eager to see.

    Battle of the Brave

Only complaint would be that it felt rushed with several weight classes ending way earlier than others, and some finals matches taking place before consolation finals. Made it hard to keep track of what was going on, which was hard for the fan in me. Missed some great finals matches with some real studs going at it because there was no acknowledgement that it was a finals match. Great tournament though.

    Middle School Rankings 2014/15 - NOVEMBER 25

Woodford beat Cambell in a close match.
  10. Yost from Woodford bumped up to 113 and was very impressive beating Insko in the finals. Both kids wrestled hard and clean, and represented their teams very well. Can't wait to see some updated rankings now that we have a better indication of who's going where.

    State results

Tucker should've been MOW for lower, much more dominant. Bender is a great kid though so no problem with the pick. I agree smith rolled through the tournament, didn't like him pushing the kid after winning though.
  12. I take it back, he wrestled great today, congratulations!
  13. Were you watching him? There were comments all day about the way he was carrying himself. Pointing out to the crowd before one match, pointing over to the stage after another... Trying to act like a show off after almost getting beat, no way I would let my kid act like that. Same thing I always tell kids, act like you've been there before.

    Exactly.
  15. I don't see how anyone who watched the region 4 tourney can still so surely pick Gamble. Maybe he was just having an off day, but out of all the favorites he looks to be the most likely to be upset. Hopefully he'll leave all his Hollywood antics back in JC this time too.

Can always come down the night before and stay in a hotel like the region 4 kids did.

KSWA MS State Duals 2-1-14 @ Summit View MS

The two big club teams won it and Twenhofel had about 8 unsportsmanlike calls. Some great matches throughout the day and some big upsets right before state to make things interesting for next week. Another thing, the refs for the most part did a really solid job... Much better than the norm which was nice for a change.
  18. Both Decks are really tough, and I wouldn't be surprised to see both finish top 3 at state.

Toughest weight class in each region?

I like that tiltfor3. We need to recognize the character of these kids off the mat as well because we have some real studs out there who are absolutely great kids.

    Region 4 Championships

I don't disagree with you for the most part. I still don't like the pointing as it came across as showboating a little bit, and I heard people from several different teams point that out to me. But he in no way ever came close to what the BC kid did. I still feel the situation was worsened by allowing the JC parents right on the side of the mat like that, but I also feel that something like this was a long time coming after seeing some of the kid's prior antics. And for the gentleman complaining about officials running kids off the mat during face offs, I agree completely. They have face offs so the kids can walk to the middle and shake hands and actually face off for just a second for a photo op for the parents. The officiating was very inconsistent, but it was consistently inconsistent as such they were equally bad regardless of who was wrestling so as bad as it was, it was fair in that respect.

    Region 4 Championships

Honestly, I have seen the BC kid before and he has a history of these antics... I've even seen him practically taunt a parent in the hallway during a tournament before so I wasn't really surprised with the way he acted. The Hayes kid at heavy was also out of line, it looked like his emotions got the better of him. I've heard that he hasn't been able to wrestle much this year so it could also be a lack of experience adding to it. I have talked to him before and he seems like a really nice kid so it was a shame to see that happen to him, but the refs didn't have much choice in that one. Another thing with the BC kid in his defense though, the JC parents were right on top of the mat during the whole match, which shouldn't have been allowed as the officials were running people off from that area all day long. And while his celebration earned him an unsportsmanlike penalty, there was another kid who jumped up and started pointing toward the stage after winning a match and nothing was done. If the refs are going to call it they need to call it both ways, but they also need to understand wrestling is an emotional sport.

Toughest weight class in each region?

Glad you are taking it all in stride. I never meant any disrespect to Blake or Ty, they are still kids and they don't need that, especially with the work they have put in to get to the level they're at. When I agreed with the other guy earlier that I thought Ty could win state at 92 as well, that was just an opinion and in no way meant as disrespect toward Blake. Honestly I'd love to see them wrestle because I think it would be a very entertaining match no matter what the outcome. If Ty's dad sees this I hope he understands as well. I wasn't trying to start any type of rivalry, especially between two kids in desperate weight classes. I hope they both wrestle well and that they both run into some difficult matches along the way, it's always good to see the best get challenged and persevere. I want all the kids in every weight class to build momentum for next year, or in some cases, for the rest of the high school season.
