I'm sure my son will be furious - but I have been broken hearted since the weekend and had to vent.... If your son was a Senior and the following happened to him - I bet you would feel a little differently about it: First Match: Win - Fall 0:50 Second Match: Win - Fall 0:53 Third Match: Lost - Dec 7-6 - Our coach discussed points not given with the Ref during the match - Ref refused to award the points - my son lost the match and therefore would not be wrestling the match he had worked so hard to obtain Fourth Match: Win - Dec 9-5 Fifth Match: Win - Fall 2:21 Sixth Match: Lost - Dec 7-6 - Same Ref - same thing - therefore my son lost the match and could not even wrestle for 3rd place Seventh Match: Win - Fall 0:36 - He got 5th place After the finals - the Ref came up to our coach and apologized saying that he messed up on 2 different calls for the 2 matches WHAT GOOD DOES THAT DO NOW !!!!! - I personally think he wasn't apologizing - I think he was rubbing it in... If this continues to happen - wrestling in Kentucky will decline - we are just now starting to compete with some of the tougher states - but if the competition keeps getting thinned out at the top - it won't be long until we will be at the bottom again. Regionals - Same Thing: My son was in the finals - two Refs - the other Kid kept pulling on his head gear - my son heard the 2nd Ref tell the 1st Ref you better watch him he is pulling on his head gear - GUESS WHAT no calls - my son's head gear had to be readjusted 4 times - insn't that 4 points??? - he lost the match 6-5 They need to tape every match and if a call is disputed - there should be several Refs designated to review the film and make a quick decision - therefore nobody loses a match that he should win - there is too much at stake here - once a bad call is made and the match is lost - you can't get it back!!

Fairfield Invitational - Friday/Saturday - 1/10 - 1/11/14

The seeds usually come out late Friday evening. My understanding is this year trackwrestling will auto seed based on the criteria the coaches have entered. They don't have the information on trackwrestling yet for this year but, here is what they did last year: 2012 Raider Rumble 18 Team Pool Tournament Place: Ryle High School Date: Saturday, December 8th, 2012 Teams: Campbell County, Columbus East (IN), Conner, Glen Este (OH), Grundy (VA), Harrison (OH), Kenton Ridge (OH), Larue County, Meade County, Moore, Ryle, South Dearborn, South Oldham, St. Xavier, Trinity, Union County, Walton Verona, Woodford County Format: 18-team pool (six individual 3-man pools). We will be using 5 mats. Seeding: We will seed the top 6 in each weight class using last season’s State, District/Regional, Sectional and Rumble Places, plus record. If your State uses other names, enter data in corresponding fields. There will not be a traditional seed meeting! We will review the seeding based on the criteria for accuracy and will adjust ONLY for head-to-head challenges! Web site: We will be using www.trackwrestling.com for the roster entry and management of the tournament. A verification email will be sent with information and instructions on how to enter rosters and seeding criteria. Roster entry is required by Thursday December 6th, 2012 at 8:00PM EST. Please enter JV Wrestlers as “NON-SCORING”. Please email (Dave101010@gmail.com) if you have any troubling doing this and send me your prioritized list of JV Wrestlers. At 8:01PM the rosters will be viewable to all coaches so that you can enter Head to Head challenges. This should speed up our process on Saturday morning and get things rolling quicker. The system will be locked at 8:00PM EST on Friday December 7th, 2012 and any correction will need to be email to Dave Johnson: Dave101010@gmail.com. 1. You may make changes to your line-up when you check-in Saturday morning. 2. JVs will be assigned to open weights after weigh-ins are finished! Times: 7:00 AM: Check-in - confirm roster and check weight. All roster changes must be made at this time – absolutely no exceptions or excuses! 7:30 AM: Weigh-in by weight class – two scales. Weigh-ins end after the 285 lbs. class is done! Wrestlers will get 2 tries on the first scale and 1 try on the other scale immediately with his weight class. You must notify Dave Johnson (513) 885-1583 by Thursday if you cannot arrive before 7:00 AM to request an extension! 8:15 AM: Coaches Meeting 9:30 AM: Wrestling Awards: We wrestle for top 8 placers with 1st – 4th place will receive medals Fees: $225 Make checks out to Ryle Wrestling Food: Food will be provided for officials and coaches only during the day. Please have wrestlers eat in the mezzanine area. NO FOOD or DRINKS in the Gym. Lockers: Lockers will be available. Ryle High School is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items. Additional comments and Notes: 1. We are scoring the round robin rounds using dual meet scoring with the range of points from 3 to 6 and a bye scored as 3 points. 2. Please check www.trackwrestling.com (Ryle Raider Rumble) for the seed list, open weights, and potential extra wrestlers that may be assigned to open weights. • No JVs will be assigned until Saturday morning! JVs will weigh-in with the Varsity and assigned after weigh-ins if there are openings in the weight class!

As for Turner's style - I think it's because he has only been wrestling since 8th grade - he is not a lifetimer like most kids - I think it's pretty impressive what he has accomplished - Qualified for State 8th - 10th grade - placed 5th at state this year - very athletic kid - has started for Varsity football since sophmore year - very few sophs get to play let alone start

Two kids from Campbell were wrestling with a torn Meniscus - Matthews 182 lb. and Turner 170 lb. - you guys are both fighters - way to hang in there through all your matches - GREAT job guys!!!!!!!
