    Wrestlers, Parents, and Coaches:

    We had a great practice tonight!  There is still room for a few more guys in the MS/HS group.  So, if you are still looking for a place to train this spring and summer, contact us.....it's not too late!  We have lots of good help in our room and will take anyone that is willing to put in some hard work!

    To the Kentucky Wrestling Community,

    We were finally able to present the Ballinger family with a check from the proceeds of the youth Tournament that was held on Dec-4th.  There were so many people who pitched in and made this event extremely successful.  You know who you are...., and thank you so much!

    True to the character that I have witnessed over and over again out of this family, one of the Ballinger's concerns was how to express their gratitude for all of the love and support that has been shown to their family during this time, and so I promised I would send this note out on their behalf.  For everything that has been provided by this community, the financial support, the letters, the cards, the signed posters by our local college programs (and even some not so local), everything, and more than anything else, the continued prayers for this young man and his family, please know that they are extremely grateful!!!!  Although Tristan's status has improved tremendously, he has a very long road of recovery ahead.  The funds raised through this event will be used to support these efforts and the family asks that we continue to show our support through prayer!

    Coaches and Fans,

    I have attached the pools for this year's Oldham Superduals Tournament.  As you will see, there should be some great individual and team matchups tomorrow.  Wrestling will start promptly at 10:00am.  The finals for this event usually begin somewhere in the neighborhood of 4:00-5:00pm.  Thank you to all participating teams and we'll see you in the morning!

    One more plug for the Tristan Ballinger youth / MS JV fundraiser on Sunday....100% of the proceeds from this event goes to support Tristan and family.  See the related post for more information on this event and how you can support this family!

    Coaches,

    This is not a takedown tournament.  I have received many questions about that.  Although that was the plan originally, we thought wrestlers and coaches would prefer a regular event.  In my haste to get this information out, I didn't think to change the name on the flyer.  For those youth coaches that have attended our youth tournament in the past, nothing has really changed in the format of this event other than adding the middle school level in the afternoon and that all proceeds will be going back to the Ballinger family.  For coaches looking to enter their wrestlers, please use the following excel sheet and email your entries to Tyler Baines.  This needs to be done prior to Sunday so that pools can be created ahead of time and we can get started on time.  Entry fees can be turned in the morning of the event.

    On Nov-16th, one of our own, Tristan Ballinger, was in a horrible accident.  He has been in ICU at UofL hospital ever since fighting a very hard battle.  There has been some improvement in his condition over the last several days, but there is a long road ahead.  In an effort to help support Tristan and his family, we will be hosting a youth/MS JV wrestling event on Dec-4th.  100% of all proceeds from this event will go directly to Tristan and family to help cover medical and related expenses.  Please see the flyer for additional information on this event.

    In addition to this event, there is also a "gofundme" page that you can visit if you would like to make a contribution to help support the family.  I have added this link below as well.  On behalf of the Ballinger family, we thank you for any support you are able to provide and most importantly, ask that you keep Tristan and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

    Coaches,

    We will be hosting Monday Night Matches again at Oldham for JV wrestlers.  See dates below and let me know if you would like to bring some guys.  All Monday Night Matches will start at 6:00pm in the OCHS Wrestling room.  If anyone else is hosting something similar for JV wrestlers, we would be interested as well and willing to travel.  Email me privately at aaron.riordan@oldham.kyschools.us.

    Coaches,

    The Cedar Lake Duals is a community service event that we host every year.  The date this year is Friday, Jan-20th.  All proceeds from the event go to support the Cedar Lake Lodge Foundation and it's residents.  All your team has to do is show up and wrestle and help us pack the gym!  We had great success with this last year with Doss and Fern Creek and I hope we can make it even better this year.

    Thank you to all who made it out tonight and put in work with BCWC, and especially to Wayne County for making the trek to OCHS!  By my count, we had 49 wrestlers attend tonight!  Hoping we can beat that mark at our next one.  We will be hosting more of these types of events in the weeks ahead and throughout the spring and summer, so stay tuned and I will post the date for the next FNM within the next couple days.
