Congratulations to brothers and long-time Colonels, Max and Brady Emerson on their recent signing. The Emerson brothers will be continuing their wrestling careers at the University of the Cumberlands! As many of you know, Max and Brady have been involved in Kentucky Wrestling for a LONG time and began their wrestling careers in the 1st grade at OCMS. Congratulations to you both!!!! Blue Collar Wrestling Club will be hosting a workout opportunity for wrestlers of all ages and skill levels grades k-12. With this being the first event like this that we have hosted, the plan is to see how it goes and possibly offer more opportunities like it throughout the spring and summer. With enough participation, this will likely be a great opportunity for wrestlers in the Louisville/Southern IN area, as well as northern and central KY, to get a good training opportunity against opponents/sparring partners that they do not see all the time.......Come practice that technique you've been perfecting against someone other than your routine practice partner or just come out to keep sharp in the off-season....... Attention Wrestling Community: On the behalf of OCHS and the Wrestling Program, our parents, alumni, fans, coaches, and most importantly, our student-athletes, we would like to thank the KYWCA (and Ryle for hosting) for all of their hard-work and sacrifices that they put forth in organizing the Kentucky State Duals Championship event as well as all of the other things that this association does to help represent and promote the sport of wrestling in the state of Kentucky! These guys sacrifice not only additional time away from their families, but also, many times, their own teams to help provide this opportunity. Attention Wrestling Community: This Friday, Jan-22nd, at OCHS, Oldham will host Doss H.S. as well as the 2015 Defending State Champs, Fern Creek H.S.! Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 6:00pm in the main gym. Of course, this is with the cooperation of the weather. If we are forced to cancel, we will announce this on this site as well as a make-up date. As some of you are aware, this is a special night and a unique opportunity for the wrestling community to "flex their muscles", as we will be donating the admission gate proceeds to Cedar Lake Lodge. CLL is a local organization which provides top notch care and services to the disabled. General admission is set at $5, but you can certainly pay more for your ticket if you like. There should be some very good matches between these 3 teams, so even if you don't have a dog in the fight, it should still be entertaining! Additionally, this event will be broadcast live through livesportscaster.com. Follow the link below for a live feed to this event. Former OCHS Head Wrestling Coach, Jeff Veech and former OCHS Athletic Director, Kevin Combs will also be providing live commentary, and we may have a special guest.........! Coaches, Last night we hosted the first of 3 JV Monday night matches here at OC. We started at about 5:45 and were done just before 7:30. Almost every wrestler got 3 or more matches in! There are no weigh-ins for this and NO ENTRY FEES, just show up and wrestle! All matches are officiated on two full size mats in our wrestling room and we pair wrestlers up ahead of time to keep things moving efficiently. I am looking for one more team to join us and Male on Jan-4th to get some more work in for these younger/inexperienced wrestlers.
