I agree 100%. At their age, their body's are changing, therefore the growth allowance is necessary.
-
Reynolds, thanks for the info.
-
Ranger what is the reasoning for the 2lb allowance? I assume because the boys are growing, bodys changing.
-
Interesting, thanks for bringing this to light.
-
I wasn't aware that at the high school level they give a 2lb allowance and then consider another for bad weather.
-
Only in Kentucky is there an allowance to an allowance. Especially without certifying in the entered weight class prior to post season.
-
I agree, there shouldnt be an allowance period (not in Jan or if there is bad weather). One of the key ingredients to be a great wrestler is discipline.

When you secretively hope his team misses the playoffs (football) so that he can get on the mat early. -
Hopefully I'll get to catch the end of the season. I am overseas again...its looking like I'll miss the season.

Gary will be at the 86lb or 92lb class. We moved to Louisville instead of the Fort Knox area. He will be wrestling for River City, he is impressed with the staff and partners. Where will Gavin be this season?

First Annual Kentucky Youth Tournament of Champions
G.W.S replied to tiltfor3's topic in Events & Marketplace
Will this tournament be open to non-Kentucky residents that placed in a different state? -
Without a doubt. Yes to weigh-in and weight classes

. I agree, you are doing the right thing by conducting weigh ins and enforcing the re-bracket fee. If you want to attract kids from out of stat then you have to do what the rest of the country is doing. That should be the standard across the board. People that disagree are the ones that are probably doing the wrong thing. Why get mad if you’re registering your child at his/her correct weight?
