  1. The thing that kills it is the going back and forth between two mat areas/auxiliary gyms. When you watch grandparents and elderly struggle all day walking up and down bleachers and stairs trying to get to their grandchildren. You would think the least khsaa could do is find a gym or arena big enough for more mats even if it's still 2 rounds of state.

  2. On behalf of Ohio co. I wanted to say thanks to Mr. Carr and everyone that made the tournament run smooth. The gym with the 4 screens was a nice addition, the face off, awesome hospitality room and atmosphere made for a great tournament with some exciting finals matches. Congratulations to all the state qualifiers.

  3. I understand as being a middle school alternate you fill the gap if someone from your region isn't able to. But how does the selection work as far as getting in if another regions alternate has a chance but isn' there. Is this selection process in writing somewhere.

  4. Could anyone let me know where region 1 youth tournament was posted at. I started a program last year and brought 11 kids, this year havent seen or heard anything about youth regions until I stumbled upon it myself on trackwrestling this evening. And looks like it is this Sunday which sucks for my kids since I was obviously out of the loop on the dates and cant get off work on short notice. Also does anyone know if middle school region counts toward being qualified for youth state or do they have to go to youth regionals as well

Last year, we started from the lightest to heaviest w/out exceeding 10% in every age group.  We did 16 man brackets and could have up to 4 kids per team in each bracket.  This forced us to manually generate each bracket....I did it, total pain in the arse.

This year, we used Track's template.  It automatically attempts to separate teammates.  Therefore, if you can move a kid up to the next bracket and pull a kid down to only have 1 per team per bracket and still keep it w/in 10%, it will.  The only draw back is you have overlap it weights and a little big larger spread rates.

Personally, I don't mind it either way.  People don't like the overlaps (mainly conspiracy theorists), but nobody likes 4 kids from one club either.

Gotcha thanks for the response guess just kind of sucks when it happens like that and one of your kids is bumped an doesn't have a team mate in either weight class. And guessing in the 78-82 weight class should have really been called 78-82.40.

  6. I can only imagine how hard it must be to run a tournament with these type numbers. My question is say one of my kids weighs 81.50 and there is two weight divisions 81-86 and 78-82. He is placed in the 81-86 an is the lightest kid in that division which I have absolutely no problem with but there is a kid in the 78-82 class that weighs 82.40. Just curious as to how that is justified or is it simply a random computer placing type thing. Any insight would be appreciated
