Back in the day, the NCAA DIII and DII champs were allowed to compete in the DI Nat'l tournament. I believe this "invitation" ended in the early 90's. Don't forget Stephen Neal as a great wrestler (2x NCAA Champ, World Champ) that went on to a very successful NFL career (with Patriots) despite never playing college football. Ray Lewis, in an interview, said (when asked why he was such a good tackler), it was because he was a wrestler in high school.

Mechanicsburg will be hosting a 6 team dual tourney on Jan 5th, 2013. We currently are looking for 2 more teams to join us, West Jefferson, and Lima Central Catholic. Some info on the three teams committed so far. Mechanicsburg will return 5 district qualifiers, 3 State Qualifiers, and 2 placers. We placed 6th in last year's DIII State Duals. Lima Central Catholic will return 5 district qualifiers and 2 state qualifiers. West Jeff will return 8 district qualifiers and 4 state qualifiers, and 2 placers. Tuslaw will return 1 SP, 3 returning SQ's, and 4 returning DQ's.
