Ok. You want to keep going down this path. Let's go.

First, you can post under as many screen names as you want. You can run but you can't hide out down there in Mt Sterling. Second, just because you continue to cry about the 2 lb allowance it won't get you past kids like Thomas and Eckman. Use your multiple personalities and screen names to attempt to make an argument instead of just getting good enough to beat the kids in front of you.

Third, you and your kid were at John Hardin and KWOA where Spencer weighed in well below 86. You know this. Just playing ignorant to attempt to make a point. Well maybe not playing. And from what I hear your kid told spencer face to face that he was coming down to 86 after Christmas. Go for it. According to you it is so terrible your kid shouldn't have any competition. We shall see. You are coming to our place Jan 6. Go for it.

Fourth, lets go back to your "close the gap" thread. Jealous parents spending a ton of energy focusing on other kids instead of improving their own is not how you make up that gap.

I wish I could like this!!

I'm all for Ky having success outside of KY. If that is what the kid wants.  But don't criticize those at don't have the means or family support not to accomplish success elsewhere.

I've seen both sides of the coin.  Those with the means and support and those without.  There can be success in both, but just saying we have to do something is easy.  There are so many obstacles that many of our wrestlers face outside of wrestling.  I believe we are closing the gap.  As CCMS stated Ky has made great strides in the last 10-15 years.

Success does not come quickly it takes time.  As I stated in another post it will improve when we have generational wrestling families.  Even that becomes problematic. I know personally I could not put everything needed into what GOO Jr needed to succeed at the highest level.  My family is a wrestling family but not my wives.  We could not make big trips which would use up vacation time because GOO Jr. has a sister and it was not fair to use the family vacation on GOO Jr.

We can't use the millennial mentality of NOW NOW NOW.  We have to work and gradually get success, which in my opinion Ky is doing.  Are we there yet? No. Do we need to do more yes, but don't expect it to happen tomorrow or even in the next 5 years.

The key obsticle this state faces in the off season are the high school Coaches themselves. When rhe wrestling season is over, emails are not answered, request for participation falls on deaf ears, and extra help making things happen is absent. This doesn't apply of course to all of our coaches, but the vast majority of them. Some of them even tell their wrestlers to not participate!

Are you being sarcastic? Because I don't see the logic.  I agree wholeheartedly though and wish I could have said it in so few words like you did.  Those that are cutting after the allowance would also make the cut twice if they had too.

Or as I heard from the old days, their coach would produce a couple weigh in sheets that said he made it twice.

    To REscalera, sarcasm.

    Ranger, again spot on.

  4. There has been a poll for this at least once in the last few years, but I'm thinking it's more like 2 or 3 times. They were official polls that mattered. And the elimination of the 2 lb allowance was defeated each time. This isnt about cutting weight. That argument is just the catalest to try to make certain kids stay in the higher weight class away from other kids that want to win the state tournament. That has been the underlying factor every time it has been put on the ballot!!

BS.  I can't for a second  believe  that they chose to stay home as opposed to go to the Ironman.  Especially Ryan Moore.  He's traveled to so many other tournaments, including ironman last year, and has had a lot of success at many of them.  Cant see him saying his senior year "Ya know, I think I'll forgo the opportunity to AA in the Ironman one last time to win a Raider Rumble championship."  Doesn't make sense to me.

There is no AA status for the Ironman.

Actually when KSWA went to USA Wrestling rules, its only a minimum of 15 minutes between matches.

USA Wrestling does only require a 15 minute break between matches. So this is left to the discretion of the tournament director. But all post season tournaments will be run according to the rules that were established by the committee. This is the same as it has always been.

  11. Fact is, unless you have an incredibly athletic individual, chances are they are going to struggle their first season no matter how much they are getting training, & no matter the style. If every wrestler or coach that struggled their first few outings quit because they were struggling or weren't familiar, we would have a folkstyle situation that would resemble our Freestyle & Greco situation.

I would venture to say Ky kids pay less than half of almost every state out there.

I'm starting to think we may need to increase cost and really go all out on the kids that are committed.

We really haven't got a choice. We are more than capable of competing at a very high level.
