How bout most open half of a bracket?? I was looking at lower half of 285 bracket. Looks like its a toss up with some great kids. I could see blevins, lord, young, or nelson coming out. I don't see a really dominate guy on that side. Any other half of brackets that way?

I would say 106.

Part of it comes from being upset in region. If you don't win, you get a 1 in round two. even if you seed, you still get match ups like bryant v troxell in rd 2. you're only going to seed the number ones, so in this example, troxell would still get a top kid in rd 2. and since it would be random draw after the 1's are seeded, this match could still happen at same time. Seeding won't always help, but I agree it will cut down on these matches.

Bryant and Troxell in round 2 Blackwell and Adams in round 2 Myers and mcilrath in round 2 Jones and Canter in round 2 These are a few huge matchs I saw in rd 2. Will make for some great early round matches.

Troxell is on same side as bryant, can't be finals. Troxell is the 2 from 8. That match will happen in round 2

Region 7- woodford co Fri- 630 Sat-9

In region 7 we seeded as many as we felt needed to be. After that, the rest were randomly drawn in. We did try to make sure it was equal on top and bottom if possible.

I'm not sure if its the same in all regions, but in 7 this is the criteria we used. 1. Head to head 2. Common opponent 3. Record (winning percentage) 4. Record against known to be quality opponents It came down to win percentage on a lot our seeded, but mostly after the first 2 or 3 seeds.

Jefferson co can not do any thing.. look at the post about mustang

Not sure bout college wrestling , but three are referees now. Have not seen them all much, but Goodrich is one of the best up and coming refs I've seen.

I guessing no Jefferson co schools will be there. They had all there activies cancelled. That's a lot of teams from the tournament. from the list on the other post, looks like 10 teams. But not sure, another post says they can travel, just not host. Confusing

I have to argue for s. Oldham that they had the best "team". 5 state champions is impressive, but its what they ALL did that makes the team.

I agree also, 03 south oldham team was best I've ever seen top to bottom

Travel wise it sucks, but I'm pretty sure they are both happy with being there.

Really? Larue, meade and north hardin...not too weak. Region 8 is the one that sticks out to me as being more open

I'm guessing the split won't last. With all the teams not showing up for sectionals and teams backing out of states...seems like coaches are defeating the purpose of what they voted for.

Danville, grant , Montgomery, Harrison, Conner, boyle, western hills. I think they are having 10 teams, so there should be 3 more too

Looks like a couple will not be there now. Several teams dropped from state duals, I heard Spencer and Apollo are two of the fill in teams.

I've had 2-3 kids sick everyweek, for over a month. Plus I got sick, twice!

Like mpire said, Congrats to all the seniors. We got a great class coming out. The numbers are huge for a lot of kids now and its impressive. Iwill say you can't use it as an accurate way to compare wtestlers of now, to wrestlers of the past. I use to think if you wrestled 40 matches, it was crazy, now its normal to have way more then that. Also you can't always compare two wrestlers today by their number of wins. Some teams wrestle lots of duals, some lots of tournaments. Guess my point is records aren't everything, u can have less wins and still be a better wrestler. But no matter what, when you get up over 160, you're pretty tough.
