Here is how you make it happen..... Get an Athletic Director to back it and put a proposal in writing and be willing to fight it. Than it goes to the Board of Control for discussion and approval or denial. See.....it's not as easy as the coaches association saying this needs to happen.

I am for seeding the tournament. It has bit my kids in the butt several times. I apologize if stating facts makes me a negative nancy. My whole point is, several people get on here and demand change and call those that don't make it happen crazy, negative, and not out for what is best for the sport. The problem is those same people have no clue the process it takes or what has been attempted in the past to make these changes. And again Crazyhorse....my shorts are not to tight. I have not worn shorts in a bout 20 years....lol. Get to know me and maybe you will see what I am all about.

It would take hours and maybe even days to seed the State Tournament. Do I like seeing these matches early on....no. But it would be almost impossible without head to heads and common opponents. Case in point: Ryle wrestles a lot in Ohio. I would bet most of the Western KY schools have not seen them. Johnson Central has only wrestled in KY a handful of times. How would we seed them? It's not as easy as it sounds. Some say we should only seed the Region Champs. How would that work this year at: 106 - Both #1 and #2 are in Region 1 132 - Both #3 and #4 are in Region 6 138 - Both #2 and #3 are in Region 1 182 - Both #1 and #2 are in Region 4 195 - Both #2 and #3 are in Region 4 220 - Both #2 and #4 are in Region 1

If Hennehan does not weigh in at 134 this weekend than he cannot wrestle at 134 for region. His weight assessment may not let him get there this weekend. the only option would be to bump everyone up.

Louisville Male will be hosting Louisville Western and North Oldham tomorrow night. We will be doing our senior night along with a Cancer awareness program. We will be collecting donations and donating money from the concession to Pin Cancer which is an organization set up to help provide funds to Cancer Research. Wrestling starts at 6:00. We would love to pack the gym and raise a great donation for a this cause. We will be wearing special singlets also.

It was done geographically and to try to align more with the newregions. They were in with Oldham and others. One complaint was teams couldn't see teams from their region so we tried to accommodate both.

The morning of the Duals. The seeding criteria was decided and voted on by the coaches.

So what is the answer? As president I am looking for ways to make this the event possible and help grow wreslting in KY

We did that Bulldog. Teams still didn't attend. Where's the compromise We just said they had to be done by January 17th yet 19 schools chose not to attend.

So here is the issue. We don't want a common date because of tournaments teams have been in forever. But we can't find a common date to make it work. Something has to give.

Ok. I understand not being able to go for financial reasons because it is Union. But I do not like that teams use that as an excuse. Your sectional should have made a date for everyone to attend. Sectionals were done geographically.

The MS thing had and effect on Male as well. To those that say well I know I don't have a shot, so why go? In Big School Section 6 we have Trinity and X. Both in the top three. Every team still attended.

Male is wrestling in the Union County Duals which is pretty close to being out of State.

It turns into a bracketed tournament after pools. The top four are in Semis. Winner wrestle for Championship. Loser of Semis wrestle for 3rd.

Just an FYI. 15 schools did not attend the sectionals in the small school division and four did not in the big school division.

I tried to get this passed coach. Other coaches voted against it based on what they were hearing from their region.

You are eligible to wrestle in you sectional but ineligible for state duals
