On July 19-20 River City Wrestling will be have an intensity Camp Located at Saint Xavier High School in Louisville. Camp Format -The intensity wrestling camp is designed around a college style practice, which is at a higher pace and intensity, and will also provide wrestlers with a series of wrestling and conditioning techniques, skills, and drills in order to take their wrestling to the next level. Wrestlers must have at least 2 years of experience unless cleared with Coach Knable or Coach Quirino. JULY 19 & 20 (9:00 - 3:00) Cost $100 *Lunch bring own lunch All participants should wear shorts, t-shirt and either wrestling or running shoes. Also bring an extra shirt and a water bottle. Park on the side of the building and walk around to the back (between the football end zone and the building). Open mats will resume on Tuesday and Thursday 5:30-6:45. We will start tomorrow July 11.

Ky FR/GR state tournament needs to be a week or two before central regionals, this could give time for more FR/GR tournaments. This year FR/GR state was early April, at this time to many kids are still focusing on folkstyle, traveling to Folkstyle national tournaments like Scholastic duals in Crawfordsville, IN, which was the same weekend. This means that most of the top competitors in our state were not even able to wrestle in our FR/GR state tournament. Also the week before you had wrestlers traveling to Virgina Beach, Flo-nationals, and cedar falls, Iowa. Having the FR/GR state tournament closer to central regionals would give wrestlers time to rest (some of these wrestlers competed back to back weekends at national tournaments and get pretty banged up), compete and train for FR/GR, and would hopefully give the State a better showing at the state tournament.

Freestyle/Greco Club Description: River City Wrestling Spring Club focuses on Freestyle/Greco. The club will travel to a number of tournaments with the main focus on the Central Regional Qualifier in Indianapolis, IN May 17th-19th. The Club is open to any athlete Kindergarten and above (Bantam-Veteran). The River City Wrestling Club has grown to be one of the largest wrestling clubs in the state of Kentucky. Cost: $100.00. Also must have a valid USA card. Location: Practices will be located at St. Xavier High School, in the wrestling room. Time: 6:00-7:30 p.m. Dates: Practices will be held every Tuesday and Thursday nights beginning April 9.
