    KY vs The world

I agree with Mpire. I can tell you the reason KY is on the rise is the youth programs. Coming from TN the top programs like father Ryan, mccallie, Christian brothers, Soddy Daisy etc. are so dominate because of there youth programs. A lot of focus has been put on those and it is paying off with years of success at the high school level. That is why the listed schools have pulled away from the rest of the pack. It is also why KY is on the rise. A quote I have tried to instill into my scheduling is: "to beat the best you have to go after the best"

    Just a few observations

FCHS and GOO Tennessee tournament is no longer a carry tournament. They went to double elimination last season.... Rumor has it they will split into Big school/small school for individual.... Also going to sectionals , region and state will not happen... It will not bring in a lot of $$$$.
  20. I agree. I look forward to it so I can look for matches to point out to my kids

Eliminating Middle School Wrestlers from High School teams

I had a 106, 120 and heavyweight that wrestled Varsity as middle schoolers this season. My heavyweight was a 7th grader who finished 11-10 on the season. Barring PCSing and retirements I should see my middle school program come to my high school in two seasons. Oh and my 120 had to beat out a senior, junior, sophomore and freshman in wrestle offs to wrestle in regions.

    Region 1

    Let the talking begin. Predictions?
  25. halfhalfhalf

    Region 1

all Regional tournaments are 5 dollars. Region one has added two more teams this season and rumored to add McCracken county next year.. Mayfield, Murray and owensboro catholic to follow in the coming seasons. That's why it was two days. The 5 match rule would come into effect. The t shirt issue actually is a wonderful Idea for Caldwell county HS to not have a ton of shirts left over. I feel Caldwell ran a wonderful region tournament. A lot of great wrestling and lots of upsets.
