Great win coach -
Fort Campbell wrestled tonight and defeated Sycamore(TN) who finished 3rd in TN small school duals last season and Smyrna(TN). They were defeated by Eagleville(tn) 39-36 and Beech (TN). Good luck to the rest of the region this weekend. Where is everyone going? Union is at castle duals and FT Campbell is at reitz duals.

@ManBearPig- thanks. I couldn't remember. I was a sophomore that year and I remember Slappy destroying a friend of mine at Northeast Christmas tournament. @UK-I am lost too. I tried to look at our records today and the last records we had was 05? which was the year FC hosted regions. Before that it was 2000. From 01-09 are all missing.
-
I think CC or FC had to of won it inbetween there. If memory serves me correctly and UKpride or GOO please help me out here.. Wasn't 03 the year CC had Kris Perry and Slappy?
-
I heard the same thing too.. But I was told it wasn't set in stone.
-
@UKpride- remind me who the last team that won region 1 before union? Was it CC or FC? I am not sure too be honest.
-
personally I am not a fan of it but it is what it is. My only question is where the heck are state duals going to be held at this year?

After watching the takedown tourney at Trigg 145 looks to be the toughest weight in region 1.
-

MTSU offered some kids scholarships no idea the amount, but it is through and endowment fund. I know they have held tournaments and bowling tournaments to raise money for their endowment.

Mpire, you can find old matches in the dungeon on youtube. I've watched a couple of older finals matches there.
-
I'd like to see the 6 mats being used during the semifinals with two mats of semifinals and the other 4 being wrestle backs. That would cut down the time of being at the arena until 10pm.

The best way to get a wrestling program started is Going through the NCWA. That's what I did at Austin Peay and so has other schools. Just because it is not a "sanctioned" sport does not mean people's options are limited to UC,CU and LWC. I know for a fact some NCWA programs offer scholarships and the competition is very Competitive. U of Central Florida, Apprentice School and Grand Valley State are very good teams and have beaten D-3, NAIA and I believe a D-2 school. If anyone wants information on how to get a program started DM me and I can point you in the Right direction.
