98 looked like a buzz saw of a class.
-
Sounds like 105 was a tough weight. IMO there will be four state placers that will come from that bracket.
Did Noah wrestle today? How'd he do? What weight? How'd the 80 and 86lbers look?
Will they post the brackets anywhere?

That's great for us!
-
Region 4 will come down to Johnson Co., Woodford Co., and Madison again this year IMO.
-
I'll go through Districts 7 and 8 and then region 4 and give my picks a little later.
-
Not sure but a team from District 7 should host were we(Johnson Co) hosted last.
-
District 7- Madison, Hayes, Woodford, Elkhorn, Scott, Henry C, Bluegrass, 5-Star, Bourbon, Lex. C, Beyan S
District 8- Johnson Co., Martin Co., Ashland, Perry Co., McMabb, Harrison Co., Boyd Co., McCreary.
These 2 districts make region 4. I think I got most of the schools but I could've missed one or 2 lol. It's from memory and mines not great.

Congrats to all the boys. I wished I could get Blue to start training a little sooner to get him out to this competiton. But with him playing football it's hard to get started any sooner. Shoot we haven't even started yet.

Johnson Central will have a handful of kids that have a great shot to end up on the podium. Blue Fletcher probably will go 80lbs wrestled both Deckard and Garcia to 1 point matches. The Horn twins showed a lot of promise last year no sure what weight they go yet but their looking lean and mean in football this year. Joe Jackson will push for a championship. JC 120lb Rodriguez kid should be a lot better this year he's been working hard. I also think there's some kids that are new to wrestling will come out do well. There's a couple kids Im forgetting but JC should put a really good team on the mat this year.

Daylon Stafford and Nathan Begley of Martin County both 8th graders.
-
Yea Blue Fletcher's just in the 5th grade this year.
I'm pretty sure Purvis will be a 7th grader and Miller an 8th grader
75,80, and 86 all should be really tough classes.

The state has solid competiton at that age and weight. You should be able to find solid partners and competition for him here in Ky.
-
What age and grade will your son be going into? Where's his weight at?

Geordon Blanton and Blake Gamble

I'm sure Johnson County middle school will be back.

All are great additions that any program should feel honored to have a part of there program. All are great but I love the Murton hire.
-
Great job to all the kids on the team Ky teams.
-
Good luck to all the Johnson County and all the Kentucky wrestling kids going to youth nationals this weekend.

I think it is 5th and under. It also adds some odd weights considering the grades, like really big kids.
I'd imagine with the extra weights it would be hard to get enough participation to make a 3rd team for Kingsport. But that's just a couple hours away for me so it is very enticing...lol.

Is there any support in putting a team together for the Kingsport tournament. I think I read were it was 5th grade and under. Is that correct?

Big shout out to the Johnson County youth wrestling team for finishing 3rd in division 2 medium school class. You guys wrestled great Sunday. Had a few state champs with a lot of state placers. (13 out of 18) We were on the lower end of the medium sized schools with 18 kids I believe. Keep putting the hard work in and next year we will finish on top.
Congrats to Martin Co also on winning the small school division great job.

Aside from the Gamble/Roberts match, I think the Mcloud (JC) /Highlander (Harrison) match was very exciting in the semi's at 120. Very intense match with Highlander getting a last second reversal at the end. JC and Harrison had great match ups all day.
McCloud made a bad mistake when he tried to turn Highlander in the last 5 seconds. He had the bar in stay behind him for the last few seconds and win the match. He was being aggressive I guess trying to turn him and getting reversed. I don't think he'll ever make that mistake again.
JC and Harrison did have some exciting matches all day.

That guy would have been right if it was 1989. Been a very long time since that was a rule.
I know I didn't have a clue. I just over heard someone saying it. Then I ask them what about it and he said he wasn't sure but thought he had heard that somewhere before. I guess he heard it a while back...lol.

Johnson County middle school is looking for a tournament on Dec.6th. If anyone is having a tournament and needs teams or knows a school that is having one it would be much appreciated if you could point us in that direction. Thanks
