Elkhorn Middle School (Located in Frankfort) is looking for a head wrestling coach for the 2017-2018 season and beyond. The team has very strong parent support as well a feeder program to Franklin County High School. The program has an established and successful Youth feeder system. I believe the first Capital City Classic was held in 1987. That would make this year the 30th CCC. Please let me know if you have different information.

Looks like some great competition again this year for 9th Annual Elkhorn "Pitman" Duals. We had some late drops but were lucky enough to fill spots with a tough Indiana team. There will be 16 teams, 4 pods, round-robin duals, with each team getting 5 matches. Lets hear some predictions. Coaches, Franklin County is looking to Reschedule Capital City Classic for Feb. 6th. Looking for 8 team dual/individual bracket style tournament (Style depends on number of teams). Expect to have a short, but great day of wrestling with Medals, Trophies, MOW…etc. I know a lot of teams take this weekend off before Regionals, but with the snow storm cancellations, figured there would be some interest. Capital City Classic weigh-ins delayed to 9:30 am The Franklin County Public Schools Superintendent has made the decision to delay weigh-ins to 9:30 am due to weather conditions. We expect to complete weigh-ins quickly and hope to begin wrestling by 11:00 am. Attending teams, please let us know if this causes a problem and we will continue to keep you updated. Based on the projected weather, the tournament is expected to go on as planned. Please drive safely.

Franklin County High School (Located in Frankfort) is looking for a head high school wrestling coach for the 2014-2015 season and beyond (2014 Schedule is already set). After 11 years of coaching I am stepping down to spend time with my family and new business adventure (Blue Stallion Brewing Co. in Lexington). I love the sport of wrestling and will miss it greatly! The team has very strong parent support as well as a group of assistant coaches that would like to remain. There will be 6 returning State Qualifiers. The program has an established and successful Middle/Youth feeder system. There is a possibility of teacher openings in the Franklin County Public School system, if you are a certified teacher.
