Kentucky Middle School wrestlers had a good showing over the weekend at the NHSCA Nationals in Virginia Beach. Congrats to the following wrestlers: The top 8 in each weight class received "ALL-AMERICAN" Honors! Mason Smith (Walton Verona) 2nd place at 85 lbs. Johnny Meiman (Gray) 3rd place at 142 lbs. Tanner Yenter (Campbell Co.) 4th place at 70 lbs. Blake Roth (Walton Verona) 5th place at 70 lbs. Brady Wells (Campbell Co.) 5th place at 75 lbs. Braden Mulcahy (Walton Verona) 5th place at 80 lbs. Ryan Moore (Campbell Co.) 7th place at 75 lbs. All these kids did very well representing the state of KY. I'm very proud of all these young men. The competition was very good. Very good tournament and great experience for these kids.

I know there are several kids that are in the Northern KY area that I'm sure you'll hear about more as the season goes. Gray has a strong class of kids with the Erdmans, Meiman, Rich and Belk. I'm sure there are others on this squad that I haven't mentioned Just can't recall their names. Turkfoot has Scaggs, not sure who else is on that team, but usually has several kids that will come after you. Campbell County is always loaded with tough kids (Wells, Yenter, Matthews, Spahr and Moore) . Walton Verona has a bunch of kids that will make some noise, Mike Meyer, Peace, Blake Roth, Michael Martin, Farwick, Trosper. Conner has several kids like Wilson, Wiley, Brandstetter and Goshorn.
