Team KY will be in Danville March 23-25, not this weekend.

Middle School post season takes place prior to all high school post season. This rule would only apply to those who qualified for h.s. State the year before. So an 8th grader could wrestle middle school then qualify for high school state and be fine but the 7th grader who did the same would be ineligible for middle school the next year. Doesn't make sense to me.

Sorry Honcho but you missed 3. Yenter at 70, Mcintosh at 168, and Mueller at HWT.

Has River City only lost to Union this year? Thought they lost to Campbell County at Super Duals.
-
As far as making scratch weight (please correct me if I am wrong) but I don't think high schoolers are required to make scratch weight either. They are given a plan that tells them at what point in the season they can wrestle the lowest allowable weight but they are not required to make scratch weight ever.

Any coaches seen the brackets for tomorrow's tourney at Fern Creek? Any surprises in the seedings?

Campbell won't be taking their whole team. They are forfeiting 3 or 4 weight classes and Yenter's out of town. I predict N. Oldham.

The Middle School List - December 2011
marriedtothemat replied to Ranger123's topic in Youth Wrestling
Only problem here is some kids had a bye the first round. The bye, even though no fault of their own, leaves them out of the running even if their average pin time was less than anyone else. -
Where's Ranger when we need him? Come on Ranger the high school gets a complete list of preseason rankings, can't you at least give us a list of top middle school wrestlers at each weight? We need something to discuss until the action begins.

Can't see Saul making it back to 70. Heard he is weighing over 80 right now. I think Roth is weighing closer to 75 than 80 so I would guess he will be at 75 for district. But February is a long way off, so anything can happen.

Is Jacobs at 70? I had heard he wasn't wrestling. If he's at 70 instead of 75 I think he will be very tough to beat.

He wasn't there. I heard he was suspended from the team but not sure. -
The 75 results are wrong. Hahn was pinned by Mattox in the 3rd in 4th match.

Whos are the kids to watch this year in middle school?
marriedtothemat replied to JCB0577's topic in Youth Wrestling
Jacobs has to moves the head lock & the cement mixer. If you can avoid those he's beatable. -
One great kid does not make a great team. Harrison hasn't been a really good team in a long time. Also only 3 state champions in school history. They will bounce back some but the program probably won't greatly improve without some major changes

Middle schoolers who wrestled at high school state
marriedtothemat replied to tap or snap's topic in Youth Wrestling
What about Mark Paul from Ryle? 7th grader in the finals. That's an accomplishment! -
You have to consider Goshorn from Campbell at 82. He came out on top at Elem. State with Emerson in the same bracket.
