  1. What are the qualifications for Srs? When i was looking at the list over half of the kids did not place at state. I wish Flo and NHSCA would put their differnces aside so that Senior Nationals could go back to the way it was which was you had to be a state finalist or petition in.

    Ask the Ref

Figure this would be a good place for people to get answers on questions they had. It seems to be a pretty popular thread on Yappi. This is a Q & A thread, please no bashing of anyone on here. Just post a question/situation below and hopefully some of the refs around the state can chime in.

    Anywhere but Alltech, Please

I think the arena is great. Pros: - Centrally located - Large Facility - Plently of places to eat and stay - Can easily see all matches Cons: - The big screen is way too bright and very hard to see. - As a spectator the dirt floor looks like it could create a lot of problems for the wrestlers. I'm sure a lot of dirt gets on the mats. What i would like to see differently: - Sheet of Vinyl to cover the whole floor. (dirt will be out of sight and out of mind.) - Dim the big screen - 8 mats to speed the process up. (don't know how this effects the 45 min. rule) - Finals on Raised stage

    takedown without a doubt.... http://bit.ly/XKr0Pt
  5. Some great early wrestling going on, makes me proud of KY wrestling. Blackwell VS Gus Adams: Love the way both of these guys didn't hold anything back all out brawl. Great match to the both of you. Canter VS Lane Jones: Great come back from Jones in this match, after the first period i thought Canter had it in the bag, just goes to show how important it is to finish takedowns inbouds on the line. Great job Lane! Jayce Carr VS Clay Brown These guys are awesome scramblers! It was awesome to see these two go at it, some very good back and forth. Excited for tomorrows matches. Paul Hamilton might pull the win off against Jayce in the finals, although Jayce is a gamer so that will make it exciting. Good luck to all.

    Ask the Ref

Holding onto a leg does not stop the takedown, when the control is imminent the ref should award the takedown then start counting back points.

    Best KY Team Ever?

Woodford had 5 homegrown champs in 1 year? Cant argue with that. Until anyone can match or beat that I don't know that another has an argument. Anyone know how many they placed overall that year?

    New state location idea.

The state tournament needs to go back to a 16 man bracket... It used to mean something to make it to state, now seems like everyone goes.

    GMVA

Not true. You can take someone down and your knees hit out of bounds, as long as your feet come back down inbounds right away then it's a takedown.
  14. You hear an awful lot don't you.

After watching a couple of matches on Marinelli i think Myers is going to beat him, maybe even major him. Cooper doesn't have a cake walk to the finals, the Delta kid with a 5 seed is an OH state placer and a stud. I'm predicting a Cooper Myers finals.

Roper and fretwell super 32 preview

Just watched it, those guys are pretty funny. The guy with the hat sounds like Charlie Day from Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Heard that Kevin Cooper will not wrestle today due to an injury this week in practice. Good luck to Jayce, Chance Lutes and the other KY wresters!

    Brock vs Jayce

I love watching these two guys wrestle. I am curious though, how do they do against each other in the practice room? If i had to put money on it, i would go with Brock 2 out of 3 times. Can anyone from Union chime in here?
  24. Mpire and Ranger are from the same school, how come you can't pick up the phone and work these situations out privately instead of bickering like a couple of school girls on a public forum?
