    State Tournament venue change

    Jullian Tacket of the KHSAA really wants to move it to EKU and their area. The problem so far has been scheduling conflicts with EKU. The idea of moving to Louisville is that you have to pay to use the yum area and the state tournament does not draw enough people to pay that kind of money.

    Richard Starks - Updates?

    He qualified for the NCAA and was 1-1 as of Friday morning. Not sure how he did in his morning match though.

    Kentucky All Decade Team

    Even though Richard was a 3 time state Champ and made the finals all four years? Just wondering

    2011 State Tournament Will Be @ Frankfort Again

    Madison Central has wrestling. I'm not sure but Wes (old PLD coach) was down there as the head coach.

    2011 State Tournament Will Be @ Frankfort Again

    It's Alumni Coliseum, but yes Savage it is a far superior venue than Frankfort. The main floor can hold 6 mats and they have an auxiliary gym that is just as big. It would be perfect for warm up. the seating is elevated so there isn't a problem with sight lines to a mat.

    Woodford = 2 medalists?

    Bigtime, I couldn't agree more. Parks was the guy behind the scenes that handled all the details and structure while the Carr's were able to focus on teaching great technique. Until Woodford finds someone to fill Park's position I don't see Woodford being the dominate school that it used to be.
  7. Sports Medicine Walk-in Clinic The University of Kentucky Sports Medicine Center now has a walk-in clinic for athletes with acute injuries. Please have the parents check with their primary insurance prior to coming in case a referral is needed. If athletes cannot make the walk-in clinic, we will do our best to schedule them an appointment within 3 days of calling. Please identify yourself as a high school athlete when calling. If you have any questions in regard to the walk-in clinic or would like to schedule an appointment, call (859) 257-4577. Football/Wrestlers

    I would be very surprised if a coached actually admitted to giving an athlete an ultimatum. I think you'll most likely get a political dance step answer, such as "I told him that should concentrate on one sport to maximize his potential."

    Football/Wrestlers

    The heavy weight from McCreary co is a quality athlete in both sports. I don't know for sure, but I would say that he is being looked at by D1 schools for football. Gentry at Woodford is another big guy that is good in both sports. He was starting varsity football by the end of his freshman year and will most likely play football in college. Also, did anyone see the article about the Bryan Station running back in the Lexington Hearald Leader? He said that being on he wrestling team is the hardest thing he has ever done and that it has made him a much better football player. He has over 2000 yards rushing, so I would say he's pretty good. http://www.kentucky.com/high_school/football/story/994517.html
