Jake is a great guy and will be an asset to Lindsey Wilson on and off the mat. Update: He underwent his last skin graph surgery and so far so good. He is progressing well and was sitting in a chair today. He is hoping he will get to come home in the next week or so. His good health and physical condition has helped his recovery... Prayers and donations are still needed and appreciated. Donations can be made to any US Bank location.

As you can imagine expenses will add up very quickly for this family. An account is being set up at the US Bank on US 42 to assist with costs for Jake and the Bradford family (fuel, medical, rehabilitation). I'm sure they would be most grateful for any and all contributions.

I can only speak as a fan at Ryle... There have been several excellent football players that were also wrestlers, however Ryle's football coaches do not support their players wrestling. The result is that these excellent football players were given an ultimatium to choose one sport over the other... all have selected wrestling. A real shame as these wrestlers/football players were starters on the football team... and state champs or placers in wrestling. Not only a tremendous sacrifice for the team but more importantly an unfair delima for the student... who should be able to participate and contribute to both sports.

Ryle is having a camp in July... I think Union County has one this week... and then there's one in Cumberland in July too.

Props to both Metcalf and Caldwell. Both good competitors. Metcalf is very intense and wrestles all 7 minutes... that's what win's matches. I did think he got away with some quick starts and pulling on headgear... but Caldwell managed to out slick, out wrestle, and out hussle him. It was impressive to watch. Let's hope Kyle can beat both next year... those are the matches I want to see and the only time I'm rooting against them.

Ryle puts on a good commuter camp and I've heard Union County is putting one on this year as well.
