  1. When did Bradbury beat Elam? And even if he did, Elam still beat him 3 times, including at state duals and state, where it mattered. And when did Smith pin Elam (who would have been wrestling up a weight class)? 103 was a much stronger weight class last year when Elam won (by pin in the finals). And to be perfectly honest, i thought 103 was fairly weak this year (one stand out does not make a strong weight class, depth and good competition do). So it is difficult to compare Fahy and Elam, although I think it would still be close. But I would say that a tech or pin would be a gigantic stretch. I would give the victory to Jarvis Elam, because if it came down to it, he would want it more. 103-Elam dec. Fahy 6-3 3-0 Union 112-Myron Bradbury pin Issac Thomas 3-6 Trinity 119 Aaron Carr pin Brent Hitchings 9-6 Union 125 Jake Wempe major Sean Gillespie 14-4 13-6 Union 130 Caleb Ervin pin Bradon Birk 19-6 Union 135 Luke Ervin pin Matt Matheny 25-6 Union 140 Matt Young dec. Trinity 28-6 Union 145 Grant Ohlmann dec Issac Ervin 4-3 28-9 Union 152 Erin McCauley maj. dec Joshua Willet 13-5 28-13 Union 160 Mitch Ervin pin Cooper Bohn 34-13 Union 171 Brad Hitchings pin Jarrod Burke 34-19 Union 189 Josh Lewis maj. dec. Diante Wright 10-1 34-23 Union 215 Brock Messina major Levi Griggs 13-2 34-27 Union 285 Jordan Whiting pin Union 34-33 Union Union takes a nice lead and then Trinity gradually catches up but never takes the lead. Union wins.
  2. Brent may have Tremendous wrestling ability, but he also has Tremendous stalling ability. I believe the best wrestlers are those who attack their opponents constantly, not sit on their base and try to hook and role. At regionals he got taken down by the Manual kid. He has good technique, I've seen him at club practices when he was in middle school, but he goes for chump moves and relies on reversals to win matches. Bottom line is: if a wrestler's highlight tape consists almost solely of reversals, rolls, and sitting on their base, then this wrestler needs to pick it up because he is not getting any better by doing that

who to watch out for next year

103-Justin Lampe (in 2 years): as a 7th grader (not to mention he only weighs 89 lbs.) he pinned Garth Yenter (placer at 103) twice
